December 2, 201114 yr Author Someone explain to me who has a chance to win & what has to happen for each to win. Louisville, West Virginia, and Cincinnati are alive for the title. -Louisville wins if Cincinnati loses -West Virginia wins if Cincinnati wins and they remain highest in the BCS standings (currently 23rd compared to Cincinnati at 30th and Louisville at 40th) -Cincinnati wins if they beat UConn and pass West Virginia in the BCS standings The reason the BCS standings factors in is that is what the three way tiebreaker is if no one beat the other two teams. Since each team went 1-1 against the other two, it comes down to who is the highest in the BCS.
December 2, 201114 yr UC is playing for its 3rd Big East title in 4 years...I realize that, but will it not be difficult for them to pass WVU?
December 2, 201114 yr Author ^ Cincinnati will earn a share of it whether they play in a BCS bowl or not. Therefore it'll be their 3rd title in 4 years regardless.
December 3, 201114 yr Kind of sums up the season for South Florida at Tampa Bay (new ridiculous branding initiative, by USF). http://zachisgod.com/?p=1826 :jump:
December 3, 201114 yr With UC up by 21 there are couches being carried to the streets in Morgantown. I was gonna post almost the exact same message!
December 3, 201114 yr Author I assume Cincinnati will run it up as far as they can. Don't know if the computers still factor in margin of victory, but they'll need all the style points they can get.
December 3, 201114 yr Author Well no, it shouldn't. Seven spots in the BCS is a lot to make up. They are probably looking to gain some spots in the polls as they did receive votes last week.
December 3, 201114 yr Thank you UC! At least a team with team with a shot at 10 wins is going to be in the BCS now.
