He didn't play in the Rowan County game tonight.

His "people" say they have been notified that he's eligible. The school says they have not heard from the KHSAA yet. I'm not sure who to believe but he did not play tonight.

The hearing official recommended that he be ruled eligible, they are just waiting on the final approval from the KHSAA commissioner.

 

The way that article reads, it sounds like he'll be eligible on December 2nd, either way (assuming he passes all coursework).

Everything is done by mail. What they received, and the school did too, sending school, receiving school, and if they are represented by an attorney, they receive a copy of the "recommendation" of the hearing officer. The ruling isn't final until the commissioner rules. The last 7 months of my life have dealt with this issue personally, I know the deal intimately.

That's what I was thinking.......

If he has a bonafide change of address, the only stipulation is that he must be eligible at the school he is leaving.

Then why is this case dragging? Why the confusion?

My guess is there's alot of griping from member schools in that region about the legitimacy of the transfer and to appease those griping, there will be the maximum delay possible. You can't imagine how that ship sails.
