Pikeville's big plays were the difference. Van Hoose uncharacteristicly missed two FG's & two extra points, but Maynard made some bigtime plays and pass completions. So did their running backs.

 

Fairview played well in spurts, and had their chances, but in the end Pikeville made the big plays.

Congrats to Pikeville on the win and to Fairview for a great season.

I just talked to a friend that was at this game and was told that it was a great game. Like others have said Fairview had chances, Pikeville made many uncharactaristic mistakes but got things going in time to make their run and go ahead. Fairview was stopped on downs on the last drive of the game with time running out.

 

Congrats to the Pikeville Panthers on the win, when it came down to it the better team won, Pikeville made the plays to come back and deserved the win. Good luck in the semi final against a very tough Hazard team next week. :thumb:

Pikeville defeated Hazard 42-6 during the regular season in 2006. Three weeks later Hazard kicks a last second fg to win the District Championship 15-14.

Classy job by the Ram fans not jumping in here and piling on Fairview. I know there are mixed emotions seeing your district foe going down, but I think most are glad to see Pikeville get the win. You guys are good guys.

FG's and extra pts looked good from the stands. Maybe they were so high the refs couldn't see. Congrats to the Panthers. Great block by freshman #13.

There is no love lost at all and never will be between the two. I make no excuses for the feelings/cmplaints that I have about the way certain things (players) are done there but this is not the time or place. That doesn't change the fact that Fairview had a great season and their kids should be proud, They kicked our butts, no excuses.

I can assure that everyone in Ram Land is looking foward to our game with the Fairview Eagles next season. :thumb:
