If that would have been Joe Pa's kid do you think he would have followed the chain of command. I do not think so, those parents sent their kids there trusting that they would be treated as they are one of his own. This is a huge Black eye on Penn St and Joe Pa. That was his program and he hired that animal to teach his players. Also to show the young kids how to play the game. He now feels sorry for the kids and family, What about when it happened? He did not feel to bad to put his buddy behind bars when it 1st happened. They are all gonna get what they deserve. I pray that the kids involved can someday move forward with their lives.

Just woke up to the news this morning. I didn't take time to read all of the post before me.

 

BUT.... Penn State just fired a man and admitted they do not have all the facts in the case. This Country you are GUILTY until proven other wise and that is just sad. Joe Pa was leaving in a month. I am not sure what the hurry is.

 

I know what has happened at PSU is awful. But no one has been found guilty of anything! I think every person deserves to proven guilty just as much as the people seeking justice deserve to have it.

If what I was told tonight about the details of the new allegation in Sandusky child sex case is true, it will horrify the public.

 

One can only guess as to what could be more horrifying than is already out there, but I can make a decent guess. Really hope I'm wrong.

Since Joe hasn't spoken, and the Board hasn't spoken, and all we know is that there was a 2002 investigation in which Joe DID make a report to the police, what FACTS are you all basing your allegation that he "failed to report" something, other than the media's rampant suggestion of same? Even the prosecutors have only made veiled suggestion of it. If they had something more, wouldn't he have been indcited as well? Where is your source, other than mere speculation?

You and I don't have all of the facts. Even the board may not have all of the facts. But the fact that they fired Paterno so quickly suggests that they have facts that haven't been made public as of now. One fact that is out there is that there was a close knit relationship between the Sandusky, McQuery, and Paterno families.

Me too. For the few who are pointing out that Paterno did what he was supposed to do by alerting his superior, do we really think Paterno truly had a superior at that time? Maybe on an org chart, but he ran the show at Penn St.

I've read and re-read several articles about this situation and a few things strike me:

 

1) Paterno is bearing the brunt here, and at this point, I feel unfairly so.

2) Apparently not only did the GA not do anything at the time, but reported to his father, who did nothing more than tell the GA to report it to "someone".

3) I still feel, from all the accounts I've been able to find, that Paterno did NOT try to cover up anything and that he did what he thought was correct in the situation.

4) This situation FAR exceeds Joe Paterno. It happens frequently, it seems, but how does this go on for decades and nothing is done? The number of times it was RIGHT THERE to be dealt with?
