I've said it. There are MANY people who need to go here. Paterno gets the thread because he is the most famous. Simple as that. But don't try to act like nobody is saying the GA, AD, DA, etc. doesn't deserve punishment too. It's been said in the media and on here.

I'm still just much more disheartened by the Police, Parents, and DA's office in 98 than I am that Joe Pa only told his superior in 2002.

The kid that lead to the investigation in 98 had parents who cared. It was the parents who went forward and helped get the confession.

 

In the grand jury statement the victim that McQuery seen getting raped is unkown still to this day. How many more do you think are out there that are embarrased to come forward? How many did he rape that didn't have parents or ones that cared enough to object? He's had access to these kids for 30 or more years, how many victims are out there?

The point is after 2002 Joe Paterno had the opportunity to stop it but turned a blind eye for the next 8 years. Fot that Joe gets no benefit of the doubt but I do think McQuery is getting off to easy and should probably get as much if not more blame than Paterno.

You haven't been paying attention then....Go listen to Herm Edwards and Mike Golic talk about McQuery. They seriously sound like they want to beat him to a bloody pulp.

Because Jo Pa was the only one in the position that could have easily put a stop to the situation but he chose not to.

I say we sit back and see how this plays out. I have a feeling that once everything is out, the Paterno defenders will be waffling on their stance.

Well one is dead, so that eliminates them.

 

As far as the parents go, maybe they tried. If not, maybe they didn't want their child to have to relive the events?

I will agree that Paterno is down the line of people who deserve outrage in this. But, as I said---he is the one getting defended and is the face, so the response comes with both of those things.

I've had it on at night and the stories are all the same they focus on Joe Pa. And just like here when others are mentioned it's always followed up immediately with a reference to well even with that Joe Pa still should have stopped this. And I've not heard the DA or police mentioned on tv at all it's always just been Joe Pa, the President, and McQuery.

So if your child is molested and the DA just closes the file and ignores you, you should just sit down and shut up? Really? You wouldn't be running to anyone that would listen about what happened and try and force the DA to prosecute? Same if you are the police. The police can put a ton of pressure on the DA if they want to.

 

It doesn't matter how much pressure they put on him, it's his decision. And how exactly can the police put pressure on a prosecuting attorney?

 

Why is it fair to you to blame the parents and police only? Why do you think JoePa gets a pass but everyone else should get some of the blame?

how often does this happen inte world today? Does the police not see stuff and report it to their superiors or do they jsut do whatever.

 

Where has Sandusky been proved guilty already, did he already have a trial or what?

 

Are you asking me would a police officer wait to report something to a superior before he/she takes action? No, they wouldn't wait, they would investigate. That's what they do....
