It's a lot warmer than last Friday nights Knox Central game. I think my feet have finaly warmed up.

 

To get my Friday night high school football fix, I'm thinking of attending the Pahokee / Belle Glade game tomorrow night. Two schools that have a ton of current NFL players.

Word is that Rockcastle County has been watering their field all week. I'll ask the dumb question. Why water the field in November when the grass is no longer growing?

Heard they called Boone County and asked them the proper watering technique for winter grass growing. What happened to letting the kids play the game and see what happens. Last time I checked, Boyle County could operate on dirt, mud, grass, or turf. Really depends on which Rockcastle team shows up, we all know which Boyle County team will show up. Can't wait!

Thanks for correcting me. The play I was referring to was from the 1995 game when Rockcastle's running back appeared to have broken the goal line but the ref said his knee was down. From the video that I saw many times within a couple years after that, it looked like the RB's knee hit the defender while he was on the way down. Either way, a call had to be made and one team was going to be upset with it.

 

The ref who called the bad call was a woman also.

A wet field would slow us down, we have the speed to keep up with Boyle this year. Just not the depth.

Not according to Boyle's coach Larry French: “I think all of their tailbacks run the ball extremely well. They run hard and they’re typical of the kid that got hurt. They kind of clone those guys,” French said. “They don’t have outstanding speed, but they run their offense extremely well. And of they get in the open field they can turn the jets on.”

I've been out of state so I don't know. Has it rain this week and how much? I find it hard to believe that anyone would waterdown a field to gain an advantage. Wet or dry field I feel Boyle is still a solid favorite. Boyle passes the ball short and in precise places. IMO a waterdown field would be to Boyle's advantage because of knowing where the ball is going to be trown while the defence is left guessing with poor footing. The biggest losers would be the moms that have to wash the uniforms after the game.

When listening to the Rockcastle game last week, the WRVK announce team of Jerry Pensol and Jason Coguer kept mentioning how sloppy and muddy the field was due to the rains that had come through. Add on the fact that the field has probably seen some 30 games this season from the different age levels and you will find that a really good rain for a couple days will make it bad for a couple weeks. From what I remember then saying, it was the muddiest in the middle of the field from the 30 to the 30.
