Right now he is 6'1" or 6'2" and you can probably drop the Mid-major from your comment. If he continues to improve he will probably play D1, I would say that Mid major may be worst case senario. This is based on his performance and his potential, If he continues to work with the right people he will get to that level. The problem he has, Is there are to many scorers on his team. He needs to shoot more often, but his ball handling skills and passing ability is off the hook. His D is good to. The three things that I wish for DJ is 1. Grow a few more inches 2. Get stronger 3. Work on his shot.

I will not speculate until his list is released. I have heard a few schools and all are D1 though. I will say that he will play where it is a best fit for him and if it is D1, Mid major, or D2, D3 I will be happy for this young man either way. I think he would fit in a MAC, AT10, or Lower tier Big East school, but I am not basis this on anything.

Would Cody Gilbert from Wolfe Co be considered in this list. 6'5" and can handle the ball great.

Duran is the best from what games I have seen. He's quick and can handle and pass the ball amazingly.

Clark Stepp is a very good point gaurd ,can handle the ball with both hands and is a good passer.He is about 6-3 and is only a sophmore.

Clark Stepp deserves a lot more press than he gets. He is an amazing player and I think he deserves to be in the top 20 in the state.

 

Matt Walls is a great player, but he's not a true point guard. He plays there out of necessity, but he's better off on the wing. Josh Mack, Duran Jefferson, and Ty Proffitt are probably the top 3. Terrance Britt of Fern Creek and John Smith of Harlan are very solid also. I'm looking forward to seeing Jeremy jones from trigg County next week.

Jefferson is being recruited by Indiana, and the last time I checked they were big time D1.

I would not quite rank him as the top point guard in the state yet, but Kevin Allen from North Oldham is quickly becoming an unstoppable force from the perimter. He is averaging 18 points, 3 assists, and 3 rebounds per game. If you have not seen him play, ask any of the coaches from the extremely tough schedule that North Oldham has played and they will assure you of how good of a player he is. This is his first season at the point and he is still learning the mental approach to the position, but his athleticism and scoring capabilities make him him a nightmare to defend. As he continues to adjust to the position, he will continue to challenge for the title of Kentucky's top point guard with the very worthy competition mentioned above.

Antonio Owens from Boyd Co. Just put up 112 pts in three day tounament. Averaging around 33 per game right now to go along with 8 reb , 6 asst, 3 steals per night. Not to shabby numbers for this part of the state. He can shoot the three, has an excellent mid-range jumper, or he can take it to the hole on anybody.

Who is the point guard from South Oldham? I saw him start last year as a sophmore and he was a very nice player and I'm sure that he has developed to be even better this year.

You sure it wasn't North Oldham? If so that is Matt Spencer and he will make some noise the next couple of years. Nice game all around. Good physical body, can shoot, penetrate, dish, dunk etc. He's a nice underrated player!
