Top Sophomores in NKY

Featured Replies

Cody Mitchell from Ludlow is very good. I would have him in my top 5 NKY Sophs.

Not sure where I would rank him but he is very talented. Ludlow has a nice sophomore class.

Jake Schulte of Newport Catholic is another kid that has a lot of upside. Not well known since he has not been playing a lot of summers on elite aau teams. The guard from Cov Cath is outstanding too. His name eludes me. Ruholt from St Henry in another player that has not been mentioned yet either. Cory Holbrook of Camp Co. Is another soph you will be hearing a lot about.

This class is loaded. The next 3 years will be the best we have witnessed in a while.

Jake is a great Babysitter Too !!!

6-6 and been adding some muscle to that frame since last season. Will be a beast on the boards.

Who would you put him in front of? Not that this is my list, but.....

Hatton, McNeil, Moeves, Verst, Schulte, The Cov Cath players names are escaping me, Barker, Hemmerich, Helton, Houliston, Holbrook????

Since you asked. Here is how I would rank them.

1. Hatton- obviously

2. Schulte- stud at 6'5

3. Mcneil- scorer/ great shot

4. Hemmerich- saw him play over the summer and he is long and has a very nice shot.

5. Mitchell- big kid who can take it to the rack, score as well as anyone. Not to mention has a Sr body already. He could definitely start for a lot of big schools.

6. Moeves- good shooter with nice handles.

7. Avery- ballhandling wizard who can drop dimes with the best of them.

8. Verst- athlete period. he should move up the ranks with a solid soph season.

9. True- 6'5 and can run the floor. Coachable and hardest worker I have seen in years.

10. Barker- stud athlete period.

Jordan Fox- Dixie- until I have seen him I have to reserve the right to rank him.

Helton- Havent seen him play.

Houliston- very good athlete but needs to be more assertive. He will do well in the new highlands run n gun offense.

Holbrook- Havent seen him play but have heard very good things about him.

Dressman- Cov Cath- I hear he is a beast and probably should be in the top 10 somewhere but I havent seen him play.

Hope- Highlands- this kid can rebound with the best of them and will be a nasty defender for the Birds.

Geiman- very good guard who can shoot and has great handles. I would expect him to get some shine time this season as well.

Trentman- 6'6 you cant teach size. Only saw him in one game last year on teh JV side and it probably wasnt a good indicator of his talent.

Burns- 6'6 another big with great potential. He and True battled hard in last year's Highlands/Brossart JV game.

Lots of JV minutes on that list.

My apologies to Cody Mitchell as I had his name backward in my recent posts.

Lots of JV minutes on that list.

23 on all all tourney team still cracks me up. I agree with Clyde, lots of JV minutes on the list with a few exceptions.

It is in fact Mitchell Cody.

Thanks for the clarification. :thumb:

I will not rank players in this thread. But this thread is chock full of flaws. Whose with me? I say let it all play out and we will see. More like a PR thread to me.
