October 27, 201114 yr Its comical. I don't think he will sustain his lead. It will eventually be Romney as the GOP nomination. Like VOR said, Perry and Cain especially need to stay in the race to take votes away from one another... I would vote for Gingrich, he is definitely the smartest man on that stage but he just isn't electable. In this election, the winner must have the independent vote. Romney is the only guy in the GOP field who can get it. With the way things have gone, I wouldn't rule Newt out just yet. I think it is very possible that he'll get his turn to be the guy once the base cools on Herman Cain.

It's not a good sign when you receive your first major criticism & you start backtracking as fast as possible. Cain has been railing about the need for people to have thicker skin. He claimed it wouldn't raise taxes and the first time someone said it would instead of defending his point he revises the plan. Now why should believe in anything he says. It's obvious he has no idea how it will affect most tax payers and will throw some at the wall to see if it sticks.

And to be fair, how ineffective the President has been in some areas; in that some of these folks could mount serious opposition.
