I don't think the GOP wants to nominate Romney so they will continue to look for another option no matter how ridiculous it is.

 

Herman Cain is going to be the GOP nominee for POTUS. For two reasons, 1) People who listen to Beck/Limbaugh and need to be told who to vote for are in LOVE with the "999 plan" and 2) As Habib said, "his latest campaign ad...is a thing of beauty." Mr. Cain is proving to be just want the GOP wants right now.

 

If Herman Cain wins the nominee I would strongly consider casting my vote for President Obama as a protest to the garbage candidates the GOP is turning out. That, or I'd join you in pulling the lever for Gary Johnson.

He has also said that if a woman is raped she should be allowed to get an abortion if she chooses. He is the first pro-life and pro-choice candidate ever.

 

He may as well be pro-choice then. No Right to Life group will support him with this being his position. Neither the pro-life nor the pro-choice people will support him in this position.

Unfortunately, unless Johnson runs as the Libertarian candidate I don't think I'll have the opportunity to cast my vote his way. If Kentucky somehow defies all my expectations and the polls are close, Obama will receive my vote . If Kentucky meets my expectations then I don't plan on wasting my vote so it will go to the LP candidate or some other 3rd party/Independent.

First, it was Bachman. Maybe not the ideal candidate for them, but Sarah Palin wasn't running and they liked her better than Romney.

 

Rick Perry jumps in. He's the guy. He is the ideal candidate. A straight talking governor from Texas, exactly what they're looking for. Then everybody actually sees him and hears him and the man doesn't quite match the myth, and he wilts under the microscope.

 

Now, it's Herman Cain. He's a straight shooter and also a political "outsider".

 

It seems that Romney has polled pretty consistently, while his challenger is a revolving door of the flavor of the month.

 

I wouldn't be surprised if another one or two of the 55 GOP candidates get a turn at the top. But, ultimately I expect many of these people who are desperately hoping for somebody other than Romney to vote for will bite the bullet and nominate him in the end because 1) he's the only chance to beat Obama and 2) they don't believe in another candidate enough to forfeit the chance to beat Obama.

I don't think he will sustain his lead. It will eventually be Romney as the GOP nomination. Like VOR said, Perry and Cain especially need to stay in the race to take votes away from one another...

 

I would vote for Gingrich, he is definitely the smartest man on that stage but he just isn't electable. In this election, the winner must have the independent vote. Romney is the only guy in the GOP field who can get it.

I hear you. I was just pointing out his inability to be on one side of an issue already. I have never seen anyone pick both sides like that. Unless he just can't articulate his thoughts. Which also would be bad for a presidential candidate.

 

That didn't matter for Barak Obama. He couldn't articulate much at all, unless using a teleprompter, and still got elected.
