It's scary how many similar stories are probably out there.

Saw where Leonardo DeCaprio bought the first on in the states. Interesting story. Curious to see what happens next.

A car that sells for $97,000.00? Brilliant. Sounds like a very expensive joke on we the taxpayers funded by we the taxpayers.

Matt Yglesias ? The same guy that defended the Solyndra loan? We all know how that one turned out.

Did y'all read the link? Fisker has 2 lines...the Karma is the car that will produce a relatively small number of vehicles for a niche market, and is being built in Finland. Then Nina is being built in Deleware, and they've already started upgrading the facility there and hiring workers.

Once again, only part of a story is being discussed, and in such a way as to sway people who aren't going to dig any deeper than a headline.

Did you read this part from the first link?

Tesla's SEC filings reveal the start-up has lost money every quarter. And while its federal funding is intended to help it mass produce a new $57,400 Model S sedan, the company has no experience in a project so vast.

Can you afford a $57,400 vehicle? Does the fact that the company has no experience in a project like this concern you at all?

***sigh*** Yes, I did. I also realize that Tesla is not Fisker, who's American production will be around $39K for a hybrid. We're not talking an apples to apples comparison. As well, the money loaned is not being used in Finland, and the US has no manufacturer equipped to produce the Karma. Does that not concern you? That we're NOT up to producing in the US? Fisker hasn't missed any loan payments, so I don't see how this is a crisis....

The company will be broke long before the start up date for the Nina production
