October 17, 201115 yr I can't think of a player more valuable to their team than Manning. Can a player win it without playing a game?
October 17, 201115 yr I hope they get Luck. If they do, you're talking about a franchise having 2 starting QBs for a 25 year period minus reserves filling in for injuries...
October 17, 201115 yr I hope they get Luck also. That would be cool to see them with Manning and then Luck. I know this thread is jokingly referencing the Colts lack of success without Manning but Aaron Rodgers will be the 2011 MVP. He should have been the 2010 MVP but the Brady lovefest was in high gear last season. Guess you have to throw more than Brady after guiding your team to a Super Bowl to get a little publicity. Doesn't matter though, Aaron. Just keep doing what you're doing. It is a joy to watch.

It's crazy how bad the Colts are without Manning, but that is literally a team/franchise built around one player.

Rodgers was 312/475, 3922 yards, 28 TD's, 11 INT,s. Like it or not Brady earned that MVP.

No one can mount a legit argument that Rodgers had a better regular season than Brady. He was unreal all season.

This year might be a different story, because Rodgers is playing lights out football right now. However last season Rodgers was no where near MVP level simply because of the year Brady had.
October 17, 201115 yr Gotta chime in and agree. Brady's numbers were insane last year. Who has a 9/1 TD/Int ratio? Rodger's was great last year, but his ratio was about 2.5/1. In fact, I'll go a step further and say had Brady not been in the discussion, Rodger's still would not and should not have won the 2010 MVP. Michael Vick had a stronger case last year. Brady (16 G, 14-2) - 65.9%, 3900 yds (7.93 ypa), 36 TD, 4 Int Rodgers (15 G, 10-6) - 65.7%, 3922 yds (8.26 ypa), 28 TD, 11 Int (2 rush TD) Vick (12 G, 10-6) - 62.6%, 3018 yds (8.11 ypa), 21 TD, 6 Int (676 rush yards, 6.8 ypa, 9 TD)
October 17, 201115 yr I think Rivers should have been mentioned somewhere under Brady as well. And if we're talking about MVP, Arian Foster might have been up there ahead of some of these guys (under Brady) as well.

And if we're talking about MVP, Arian Foster might have been up there ahead of some of these guys (under Brady) as well. Sure. I just remembered Vick was the primary guy people were touting as a contender against Brady last year. And, based on how he played last year, I think he deserved it. I do think the fact that neither Rivers (9-7) nor Foster (6-10) made the post-season would make it tougher to argue them against Rodgers though.

I thought Aaron Rodgers body of work was more impressive than Brady's. But like I said, I wasn't caught up in the Brady lovefest last year. Never have been except for that one magical year when he threw an NFL record 50 touchdowns. Brady won unanimously last year and for me, he didn't have a unanimous MVP type year last year. I thought Vick deserved it more than Brady and he missed games last year. Rodgers played in the tougher conference and his performance down the stretch of the regular season to get in the playoffs was what would have gotten him my MVP vote.

Aaron Rodgers is a fine QB, but he did not come close to deserving the MVP over Tom Brady last year. Brady had 36 TD's and 4 interceptions, won his division, and threw for a ton of yards. It was an easy choice for MVP.
