October 17, 201114 yr I won't like it then. I thought Aaron Rodgers body of work was more impressive than Brady's. But like I said, I wasn't caught up in the Brady lovefest last year. Never have been except for that one magical year when he threw an NFL record 50 touchdowns. Brady won unanimously last year and for me, he didn't have a unanimous MVP type year last year. I thought Vick deserved it more than Brady and he missed games last year. Rodgers played in the tougher conference and his performance down the stretch of the regular season to get in the playoffs was what would have gotten him my MVP vote. Both teams played in a division with two sub-.500 teams and one other playoff team. Both teams played 7 games against opponents with winning records and 9 against opponents with losing records. I don't think you can argue that New England had an easier time of it. You could bring up the fact that Green Bay had a ton of injuries to deal with last year and that would be a valid point. However, I could easily counter and argue that even with an injury-riddled roster, Rodgers was still surrounded by more talent. There's no doubt he had a better defense supporting him. Even after losing Jermichael Finley, he still had the quartet of Jennings, Driver, Nelson and Jones at receiver. Welker is a stud for sure, but Brady's two best WR's after that were Deion Branch and Brandon Tate. His other leading receivers were two rookie TE's and cast-off RB Danny Woodhead. That doesn't exactly seem like the formula for an offense that averaged better than 32 points per game to me. Points they needed since the defense was rated 25th in the league. Brady's 2010 was about as unanimous as it gets for NFL MVP, IMO.

He missed the Week 15 game with a concussion that he suffered early in Week 14, so he was basically out for two games. (Ironically, they played @ New England in the game he missed.) If you just look at the last two weeks, Brady had a higher QB Rating. Is he punished for having his team in a position where they didn't have to win at the end?

And he is probably in the lead in MVP talks right now for this season, because he deserves it. But let's not go back and say he deserved it last year too when he clearly did not.
