Did Whackem make his 77-0 prediction on this game , if not ,too bad !

As a Bulldog fan, I have no problem with the onsides kick at 7-0. They needed to jump on them early and not let them even think they have a shot. Looks like the turnovers by the 'dogs just made the game one-sided early. The outcome didn't surprise me one bit. Huge gap between HHS, CCH and Holmes. The 'Birds coaches had to see on tape or scouting that the biggest vulnerability defensively for the 'dogs was their safeties cheat up to play run first. Teams all year have gotten behind them. Most teams haven't been able to connect, that wasn't the case last night or will be next week against CCH.If they keep safeties back next week,CCH will run it at will with their massive o-line. All-in-all, it's been a decent year for the 'dogs. They are young and hopefully will get better. They've made the playoffs, so

maybe they can win a game there.

Again, I'm pretty sure it wasn't an onside kick, but I know that a lot of times coaches will try things to practice them and it will force the next opponents who see the game film to use practice time preparing for that stuff...

The Birds should change their name to the Highlands Carpet bombers.....still say offense will have to carry this team if they want to get past Cov. Cath. in the playoffs. D is permeable.

BengalManiac, I think this has been a pretty solid year for Holmes.

Sure, getting hammered by the score they did is not something to be proud of, but overall they have played a pretty solid schedule that very well could have 3 state champions on it. It is a far cry of the type of schedule they have played in the past.

Not much was expected of the Dogs this year but they sitting at 4-4 and have the three seed locked up.

As for the game, I was out of there after halftime. I see nothing wrong with the onside kick and to think anything of it is silly. Holmes has had trouble with their kick game all year and usually just squibs kickoffs. The first play for a TD was deflating for the Dogs.

It didn't help that Holmes was using their 3rd string QB from the start.

Does Highlands have to play these ridiculous games? Are they district/mandatory? Otherwise why not challange your program some?

I will assume that's rhetorical.

Yes, the last 4 opponents have been district games they are required to play. Also, Mason, OH. Was on their schedule, but for some reason they dropped us. That game would've made the schedule a bit tougher.

It's lonely at the top !! Really don't see anybody knocking down the door to play the Birds , do you ?

HHS needs to be the one doing the seeking. To be recognized outside northern Kentucky I would think they'd want to take on new challanges. Aren't there some other Ohio schools they can call?

So much for the "dale would never score 70 on someone argument" we saw on here last year.

How would you avoid it. Start the freshmen? The reserves already play half of the game or more. The reserves are not going to quit trying to score.

I would like to see them play more out of state games , but I would like those teams to be about the same in enrollment as Highlands. To hear everyone talk , they should be playing the teams in the GCL South , Trinity ,St Ed , Cleveland St Iggy , Massillon , etc , etc . I believe Highlands could play these big schools tough , but I wouldn't want to see them try , for obvious reasons. Put them in games with out of state schools their size , and they would compete with any of them , and that includes teams from Fl. Oh,Ga,Tn.
