Lets see... Where to start?

Bad QB

Average RB

Bad OL and DL

Bad Secondary

Bad recruiting classes

Same story 5-6 wins every year.

Problem is much bigger than the kids and coaches.

1. Fans - Don't care enough about Football. Football season ends in KY on Oct. 15th.

2. Admin - See number one - So they spend more resources on Basketball than they do football.

IMO we have the players to COMPETE in the SEC. But I do not believe the coaching staff is getting the full potential out of the players. Sometimes you have to be knocked down to get picked up and this is not happening. All I hear is how great practices are, how competitive practices are, how leaders are stepping up, one of the top offensive lines in the SEC, etc. When is someone going to step up and say we played like crap, we could not have beat a good high school team with that type of performance, if you can't do better than that get off my football field, etc. I just do not see the present coaching staff getting much done! TOO SOFT!

I disagree with mcrayraft in that i don't think the Cats have enough SEC talent to compete with the big boys of the SEC. Florida is good team this but not as strong Bama,LSU,and maybe even Arkansas and South Carolina. For Kentucky to be contender in SEC they will have to hire a Big Name coach to bring in top players. Kids today go to scholls where best coaches are example Cal with Kentucky B-Ball.

The question should be "Where is there not a problem"?

I can also agree with you here as well. There is a reason that Bear Bryant left U.K. !

I love all U.K. sports but as the Cubs fans have a billy goat, U.K. fans have "The Curse Of THE BEAR" !

Agreed, U.K. isn't even remotely close to having SEC talent, not close. Barely enough to have stayed above the bottom and this season they will probably be dead last.

The fans don't care? And thats why the team sucks? Wow. If I start caring more, does that mean the team automatically gets better?

If you want to blame the admin, go ahead (and I probably won't disagree), but blaming the fans is stupid.

Need to work harder.

The staff sucks and the players are not SEC caliber players. The head coach brought these players in. They all suck. It's that simple.

If you and other fans really did care beyond just a passing fancy, the administration would get the message and stop treating football as a third-class citizen in comparison to basketball. You're not really going to try and tell us the level of passion the fan base has for the football program is on par with basketball, are you? The administration feels very little pressure from the fan base to take steps to improve the football program because they know the truth just like I do -- success in football is nowhere near as imperative as success in basketball. They know you guys are satisfied with schedule-rigging a slate of non-conference patsies and a win over Vandy and whoever else in the SEC is down that year in order to get to some garbage bowl nobody in the rest of the country cares about or watches.

The fact that the Rich Brooks era is considered a "successful" one by UK fans says a lot. That same level of "success" in basketball is considered a massive failure by Wildcat fans, and that's why Tubby Smith and Billy Gillispie are no longer coaching the basketball team.

Dont blame this fan, I write my check for two seats and a forced "donation" every season. I guess if I cared a little more Mr. Newton would develop into a better QB. Sorry BBN I've let you down. If I had known fans passion resulted in more wins I would have named my first child wildcat. You guys always make me laugh.
