My Fioptics has great potential, but is so buggy right now I don't know if I can stay on board and I really don't want to switch back to Insight/Time Warner. September 27, 201114 yr DIRECTV has superior programming. DISH has lower prices. DIRECTV has historically better Customer Service, but neither are amazing in that area. DISH has the whole home DVR service perfected, while it's still a work-in-progress with DIRECTV. You also have to have a receiver for every TV with DIRECTV, while you can do one receiver per two TVs with DISH. Each have their advantages, but give me DIRECTV.

I got DirecTV last December and I love it. Everything I watch is in HD now and the space on the DVR is mindblowing. DirecTV all the way. Get that free Sunday Ticket. NOW!!!! I think you get some free movie channels if you sign up now also. And tell them we all sent you so we can 100.00 off our bill with their referral plan.
September 27, 201114 yr Whoa, usually DIRECTV only runs the Sunday Ticket offer on Premier.. I didn't realize they were doing it on every package all the way down to Choice (which is essentially their lowest package, because Family is a waste of money). That's a great deal. I wish I could get satellite in my apartment, I'd be all over that.

We were with Dish for 8 years (2001-2009) & enjoyed the service for the most part. Customer service, however, couldn't have been more atrocious. Have been with Direct ever since & feel like the programming quality is better overall, with the exception of DVR. Of course, Dish had a huge lawsuit with TiVo over it (which I think got settled). Direct's customer service vastly outweighs what Dish provided (I've been told Dish has improved this, though). For my family, price is important, so we're considering a move back to Dish. One thing that concerns me most is the quality of HD programming. Has anyone had both & can you offer your observations on how they compare? So overall, RTS, I would say from my experience that Direct is better but you also pay more for it.
