September 22, 201115 yr I don't know about the rest of you, but the amount of complaining that I have seen on Facebook and Twitter today about President Barack Obama coming to speak in Cincinnati is quite ridiculous. Seems everyone is real unhappy about the traffic that the President's arrival has caused on the highways. Granted most of them are probably 27 and younger and could care less about the issues surrounding the Brent Spence Bridge, but still. Anyone else noticing the same reactions? What are your thoughts abouts regarding all the complaining? I also saw what I thought was a hilarious joke, but it was a little inappropriate so I probably won't share it right now.
September 22, 201115 yr I agree. The amount of complaining over this visit is ridiculous. People complain about the condition of the Brent Spence Bridge and how we need to get it replaced. Then they complain when the bridge gets on the POTUS' radar and he visits to bring attention to the issue. I don't care why he was here. That bridge is a mess and anything anyone does to get it replaced soon is great.
September 22, 201115 yr I agree 100! It is ridiculous! Even Raud Paul was there! How many times did President Bush come to town? Anytime a president comes to the area, it can only be good for the region!
September 22, 201115 yr Traffic is bad. But seeing Air Force One parked at CVG near Turfway Rd is pretty cool!
September 22, 201115 yr As long as the traffic is back to it's usual flow by 6:15 when I leave work, I'll be happy.
September 22, 201115 yr Traffic is bad. But seeing Air Force One parked at CVG near Turfway Rd is pretty cool! I can see 50 years old in the near distance yet I still get excited to see Air Force One. It's shocking how big it is. Complaining is simply what we do now. Presidents come once every couple of years and people lose their collective mind when traffic slows down.
September 22, 201115 yr Imagine the complaining if they lost use of one or two of those bridges. They'd be begging Obama to make an appearance.
September 22, 201115 yr I got caught in it, ticked me off to no end. Absolute gridlock, it looked like Washington. I had an appointment to make, timing is everything...
September 23, 201115 yr If you think the President was in town to try to get this bridge fixed, your only kidding yourself!
September 23, 201115 yr If you think the President was in town to try to get this bridge fixed, your only kidding yourself!Ding Ding Ding!!! We have a winner!!!!
September 23, 201115 yr If you think the President was in town to try to get this bridge fixed, your only kidding yourself! The President made it clear as to why he was in town and why he picked that bridge.
September 23, 201115 yr If you think the President was in town to try to get this bridge fixed, your only kidding yourself! But do we care? The more attention this bridge draws the better regardless of motivation or circumstances. I wish he would come back next week if it will help get the project moving.

September 23, 201115 yr The thing I found amusing is that Rand Paul flew into town on Air Force One with Obama. I would love to know how the conversation went on that flight. Hopefully Air Force One has good toilets and light bulbs.
