September 10, 201115 yr Newton has made a couple of bad throws/plays, but he'd be fine if anyone else on the team was any good. You are nuts. You can't possibly believe that.
September 10, 201115 yr You are nuts. You can't possibly believe that. Really? Here's what I've got. I'm probably missing some, but... 1 - over threw King in the endzone 2 - should have gotten rid of the ball on one/both of the sacks 3 - bad throw on the INT He's hardly even had time to be bad. The defense can't stop CMU for anything.
September 10, 201115 yr At least they've looked better than last week. That's about the only positive I can offer.
September 10, 201115 yr Who you going to put in instead of Newton, the frosh Maxwell Smith? Face it, we are stuck with Newton. I done a lot of research and put in a lot of time dissecting the class that came in with Newton (Primarily Newton and Mossakowski) and it is my firm opinion that Mossakowski was a much better fit for the pro system in place at UK than Newton. He came in with the shoulder injury that caused him to red shirt as a frosh and didn't seem to get a fair crack after that. I'm no expert, scout, or anything like that, but go back and read my posts and you'll find from day one I was for Mossakowski over Newton as I thought he was far and away the better QB prospect. It killed me to see Moss give up and transfer but I guess you cannot blame him. He will always be an enigma in Kentucky lore, especially if Newton never lives up to the hype. I'm not going to give up on Newton yet, but if the season progresses like the first game and a half I am going to have to start looking forward to the Patrick Towels era.
September 10, 201115 yr How to you give the ball to CMU if you blew the play dead? It was a fumble, but I didn't think you could change that call since the whistle was blown.
September 10, 201115 yr So Newton has overshot King on two would-be big plays today ... and King has had two balls ricochet of his hands. #problemsnotsolved
