How could anyone think that if he did report he automatically becomes the starter? I could see if Brat was still the O coordinator but Dalton and Gradkowski have weeks and years of knowledge of Gruden's offense while CP would have none. I just hope if he does come back that Mikey gets something rather than nothing.

See, that's what I don't understand. How does him coming back stick it to Brown? That's what Mike Brown wants to happen.

So Palmer's leverage to this point is not to show up, but if he shows up now it is sticking it to Brown?

For one, he is better, no matter how much experience he has. Maybe not in one week, but I would think he could be equipped enough quickly. Also, if he does not want to play, Mikey can stick it to him even more by playing him. If on the field the worst thing for his future (assuming he wants to play in the future) is to stink it up.

 

I agree that he would likely be better than Dalton but it's deeper than that. He doesn't want to be here while Dalton does and you don't bring in a guy to play who doesn't have his heart in it. If he comes back he's coming back to get dealt and that's exactly what MB should do but he won't.
