snakesnot_2000 Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Here we go. One of the big games in the state. Who wins?
UK fball fan Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Mayfields OL will get a serious test from a bigger and quick Paducah DL. If they manage to play even there and give Guhy some time to throw, I like Mayfields chances. I think both teams will struggle to run the ball, so, the passing game will be a big key. Special teams will be big, as well. A FG, a blocked punt or a big run back could be a deciding factor. I look for a fairly low scoring game with both defenses winning the majority of the battles. Should be a very evenly matched game. PTs played the tougher schedule thus far, have a few more returning starters and they're at home, so, they may have a slight advantage, but, I think the Cards have a superior coaching staff and will be better at making the neccessary in-game adjustments to pull them through. Mayfield 21 Tilghman 14..
hrcarrier Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Uncertain on this one; should be a great game. If I lived closer to the area, I would likely come watch this one.
imsosilly Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Interesting matchup. I think Tilghman wins out with depth and speed, but wouldn't be a bit surprised if Mayfield wins a close one.
snakesnot_2000 Posted August 28, 2011 Author Posted August 28, 2011 2005 was the last time PT won. This will be an extremely tough game for Mayfield to win. We have a very good defense but our offense is still a work in progress. It's the same ole, same ole, whoever makes the fewest mistakes wins. PT will be very motivated to win this game. If Mayfield can run the ball on them I like our chances. This game also goes along way in telling us how good we are and what we need to work on. PT will have more talent than anyone else we play but not necessarily the best team we could play.
UK fball fan Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 I really don't see the talent advantage for Tilghman. They have several good ones, but, no more than Mayfield does. They do have a little size advantage, but, that's about it. Don't see either being that much faster than the other.

UK fball fan Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Trust me, Tilghman has more speed ... I disagree. We shall see.
westsider Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Defensively, Tilghman is faster ... not by a wide margin, but definitely with an edge.
snakesnot_2000 Posted August 30, 2011 Author Posted August 30, 2011 Is it possible to get your game breakdown Westsider?
Toothpick Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Is it possible to get your game breakdown Westsider? I'm guessing he is a PT guy, besides I doubt he knows a thing about May, now if it was JC that would be an all together different matter
