Boyle County is in big trouble in week one and here is why...

Friday night Boyle lines up against the Angry Birds fresh off of being embarrassed by Trinity in a scrimmage. Highlands' pride took a hit Friday night and it is payback time. Since Trinity left the state that leaves the Rebels of Boyle County for the Birds to feast on. Additionally, Highlands will let the Rebs know there is a new Sheriff in 4A Town and his name is Dale Mueller.

Talk about stirring the pot !! WOW !!

This looks like the pefect time for me to finaly use the :taz: smile for something.

The only thing I can think of to say is we :isurrender: now.

Guru seems to have turned up the heat this year with a lot more rhetoric. How about taking a shot at two of the best programs in the state in just a few short sentances.

Highlands was embarrased? You certainly have read my post in other threads on that issue. The birds got from that SCRIMMAGE exactly what they were looking for. They have nothing to be embarrassed about and last weeks scrimmage will have little bearing on this weeks contest.

Boyle is in trouble? Reallly Guru? A team that is two time defending champion and holder of 30 straight wins, and they are in trouble. Boyle knows who they are playing. There are reminders all over the Danville area counting down to this game.

Two defending champions going toe to toe. Winner gets bragging rights for 13 weeks while preparation for the rematch takes place. Nothing more. Nobody is in trouble. Both live to play another day and in fact will likely meet again.

theguru you could be right but you have to remember those birds will be flying through Boyle County. They don't call them Rebels for nothing. Those Boyle country boys will be locked and loaded ready to shoot down any bird that comes near their stadium...:thumb:

I have no idea who will win, but I have no doubt BC will hold its own against stiff competition. I seem to recall some saying that Boyle County's title-winning days were over when they moved into old 3A, which HHS had won for the last three years. All BC did was rattle off three straight 3A titles.

Actually it is same old guru... :D

I think the points are valid, one, the Birds are set to rebound very strong this week and two of course you want to crush the will of Boyle if you are Highlands.

And please, I am not taking shots at anyone, if you think otherwise you don't know me very well.

I think this is inflammatory and does not help the Birds after a very discouraging weekend. Birds will be fortunate to get a win after a week of no offensive output. I doubt they think they're going to blow out the reb's. If I were them, I'd be second guessing everyone telling these birds just how good they are.

I think Highlands will win by three touchdowns.

Could be....this game will be fun. I am more worried about games in November than in August. After the Trinity scrimmage, I'll be satisfied if we can keep it close. It's still early though so I am not too concerned about a loss on August 19th if we lose.

Can't wait to tailgate with you guys.:thumb:

Guru , embarrassed ? Really ?

The score doesn't reflect that . The # 9 team in the country wins the game 38-14 , while leaving their starters in until 6 minutes to go in the 4th quarter . Embarrassed , is not the proper word .They were beaten by the better team , that's it. The Birds were beaten but they played their tails off and handled the loss with class , just like they were taught to .

They will approach the Boyle game , the way they have approached every other game in their long history . This should be a great game , both winning traditions , and both hungry to prove something . That's it !!

Really hb, I mean it.

My gut says this isn't any reflection on Highlands but rather Trinity may have their best team ever.

The point is, a team the calibre of Highlands will bounce back in strong fashion this week and that is why Boyle is in trouble.
