Can this team continue to not produce when they have a chance to break games wide open? If they don't improve on this it will be a long second half of the season.

Is Massett hurt or something? I am really surprised that Dusty is using Chapman here. Does that mean Massett pitches the 9th, one can only hope.

^ Cordero is the closer and will be closing the rest of the year unless he gets hurt.

Dusty you can not stay with Chapman if he can't throw strikes.

You didn't need to tell me that. He will be the closer no matter how bad he performs.

I guess Massett is no longer the setup man?

Well you said you were hoping it was going to be Masset.

Putting this one in the bonehead thread.

Come in from mowing the yard just in time to see Pujols take Chapman deep.

Now Massett comes in. You have to wonder what is going through his mind after not being called on to protect the lead like he USUALLY is.

Dusty was just showing Chapman how much confidence he has in him. Nice place to do it against the Cards when you really need a win.

Great question. He's their best relief pitcher IMO and they've blown 2 straight saves where he should have been in and he never made an appearance.

How long before the team starts losing confidence in the skipper's decisions? My guess is that it won't be long if he continues to make them like he has lately against his division rivals.
