Yea there were a few banged up during the game. Kasey Clark hurt his elbow sometime early in the game and it was swollen pretty bad after the game. #53 Schafer had a swollen knee after the game. Don't know what happened but he was banged up pretty good.

A lot of kids played through injuries that game. Some I noticed was Kasey, Derek, Tommy. However, I also noticed some of the Aces banged up, but still playing. I know #80 took a shot, limped off the field, but was back a play or so later. #76 and #79 both had some leg issues but returned to the field.

 

I guess what I'm saying, heart and character do matter, but in a game at this level, they all have it, that's a big reason both teams made it this far.

Heart does make a big Difference

Russell has one of the best feeder programs in the system. Good to hear that someone recognize that it all starts in your feeder program. These volunteers work hard at Russell JFL program and it shows on friday nights. It does the coaches good to see kids they coached on the field on Friday nights. Russell JFL is a class act program and I know the Russell coaching staff appreciate it. Hats off to all the volunteers that have worked so hard in the Russell JFL program to make it what it is today.

The JFL program is a great placed for our kids. We compete against each other and then compete at the end of the year against other grades around us. OUr program teaches not only the wing -t but every offense that the kids may run some time inthe future- wishbone, power -I. wing-T, aces, trips. twins, spread and double wing- eagle. These formations allow our kids to learn and grow. I teach these at 7 years old along with defensive stunts. Twists, slants, X, shifts. drop coverage, zone and what ever we run up against. Our coaches pretty much work together to teach all the kids, Competition between the coaches and teams makes for some interesting games, but every body is on the same page when we go to grades. Each coach takes a grade and goes out to face other schools. We had 2- 1 hour practices this past year, traveled to Morgan County and played very well. Our feeder group is wonderful and talented. Look for the up and coming stars out of the JFL- ITS LOADED ALSO.

I think OC would have liked to see this a bit more, they mainly saw his back side.
