Maybe even Adonis Thomas. If they keep the one-and-done, guys like Terrence Jones & Sullinger will have to really step it up this year. As I see it, about half of next year's lottery would be from this incoming crop of freshmen (assuming they would all leave). If they enact the two-year rule, then all the guys who decided to come back for another year--Sullinger, P. Jones, T. Jones, Barnes, J. Lamb--will be the obvious benefactors from an NBA perspective. UK will be the obvious benefactors from the collegiate perspective.

June 24, 201115 yr ^ I think Davis will be the #1 pick next year. I think he could be. I would never turn down a legit wing in the draft though. The really good ones are few and far between and I think they are easier to project than quality bigs.

He has all the talent in the world, but I'm one of few UK fans who is concerned with Teague's decision-making ability. He just comes across sometimes as a guy who tries to do too much. Of course, Wall did this quite often, but his freakish athleticism covered over for some of those mistakes. Knight tried to do too much too, but it was understandable because he was UK's best offensive player last year. I don't see Teague being nearly as gifted the athlete as Wall; nor is he the outside scoring threat of Knight. If he has an average season, I see him leaving simply because the NBA drafts so much on potential & also because both Davis & Gilchrist will be leaving, along with Jones & Lamb. And then the next season, Ryan Harrow will be competing with him for playing time.
June 24, 201115 yr Draft observations of note: Gotta love Josh Harrelson getting drafted before Josh Selby. That is hilarious to me. Congrats to Harrelson! Singler drops to round 2 ... should he have declared last year when his stock was higher? Not even a guaranteed contract now. All the trades that happen in the NBA draft make watching it almost worthless for me. Watch the lottery picks and then read about the rest the next day. When you see how far highly touted players drop or even fail to get drafted, you realize the NBA is by far the toughest pro league to make it in. As others posted above, as if Cal needed any more help in recruiting, the mileage he can get out of Harrelson and Liggins getting drafted and "The Kentucky Effect" may have more impact than the first rounders. Great observations. I agree with them all. Especially the "Kentucky Effect.". I do still think the natives will get restless if all this pro talent doesn't translate to a championship(s) sooner rather than later. Singler really messed up. I hate that for him. The flip side of it is you better be fairly certain you are going in round 1. Singler should have declared last year. Josh Selby cost himself big time by declaring this year. This may change in the new contract, but I would always advise a player to go pro if he knows he is a round 1 pick.

Then I saw the boxscores from the KY-IN games and saw that Hickey seemed to hold his own against him. Maybe my expectations are too high but I definitely expected more from Teague against our best seniors. He still had a boatload of turnovers both KY-IN games if I am not mistaken. I admittedly don't know much about him I just didn't think he would be one and done but I have been wrong a few times before.lol I think it's going to be different for Cal this year too because of Teague. In each of the four previous individual seasons, Cal's best player has been his point guard--the guy with the ball in his hands the most. That's not going to be the case this year. I know Teague isn't chopped liver, but neither do I see him as the best player on the team. I can't imagine a scenario in which he would even be one of our top three scorers. I know I'm probably being unfair, since the kid hasn't even participated in his first practice yet. And while I'm confident that Cal will help Teague progress, I have more concern at the PG position this year than I have in the last two years.
