June 3, 201115 yr I think Dallas is way too sensitive. Their 'celebration' of the three is no different to running down the court with 3 fingers hoisted all the way down the court after hitting a three like Dirk and Stevenson do. Dallas needs to quit being so sensitive. Is this the NBA or WNBA? Bunch of little girls. Wahhhhh, they got happy because they scored on us again and liked it!!!!! Wahhhhhhhh!!!!! If that is what it took for Dallas to play at their best, this one may be over in 5 and not in a good way for Cuban's bunch. :thumb:

The Heat are the ones that are way too sensitive. How many times did we hear throughout the season them complain about how everyone hates them, it's "us against the world", everyone's happy because "the Heat are losing"?
June 3, 201115 yr They were mad they were getting blown out and shown up by Miami I don't see what the problem is? No one likes to get beat and have it rubbed in their face.
June 3, 201115 yr Author Shaq was the biggest goofball in the league and it turned out fine for him, championship-wise. On the court not near to the degree of James. Off the court no doubt, the Shaqtucs has everyone beat. Even then it is atypical behavior from a superstar player.

June 3, 201115 yr ^Shaq did it all with a huge grin and everyone knew he was clowning. LeBron is serious when he does, and is simply self-absorbed IMO.
June 3, 201115 yr The Heat are the ones that are way too sensitive. How many times did we hear throughout the season them complain about how everyone hates them, it's "us against the world", everyone's happy because "the Heat are losing"? No argument from me there. LBJ and Wade both wear their emotions on their sleeve and I have always thought Wade is soft mentally. I never looked at him the same after he was wheeled off in a wheelchair in tears after separating his shoulder.
June 3, 201115 yr It doesn't matter what LBJ does. People hate him and always will because he isn't funny like Shaq and doesn't play like MJ. I have heard LBJ say a lot of things that may have been questionable but I have neve heard him publicly declare himself King James, Chosen One or none of that other stuff. I have never heard him talk in third person and while I do believe he is self absorbed and stuck on himself I think people who want to hate him will always find a reason to hate him regardless. Kind of like Obama. LBJ could save a child from a burning building but would get scolded for not handling the press conference properly about his actions. I get it...he's a tool but the fact that Shaq gets a pass for being the biggest diva in the history of the NBA and LBJ is hated more is kind of funny to me.

I recall him talking in third person quite a bit then. I believe I've heard it several other times as well.

Kobe has them, Shaq has some, Jordan has some, every NBA player I can think of does, though I've never heard anyone say a bad word about Magic Johnson even though had he played today I'm sure he would have got bad press for how he got AIDS. LeBron's detractors will go away when he starts winning titles. Not all of them, hardcore basketball fans that hate him probably always will. But I do think the casual fan will embrace him when he starts to win, they always do.

I happen to think he is genuinely a good guy that simply does not get the big picture. Like it or not, when he opted to give the proverbial middle finger to the city of Cleveland via a one hour "Decision" telecast and take the easy path to multiple titles (or in the words of James, "not one title, not two titles, not three, not four, not five, not six, not seven..."), he opened himself to being a pinata and a big chunk of America is not wearing a blind-fold. He can't have his cake and eat it too. Point being he brought a lot of this on himself. I wish him nothing but the best because I love to watch greatness. I think he has all but admitted he screwed up big time with his actions. The statue of limitations of piling on has not yet expired in the eyes of most.
June 3, 201115 yr Did you watch "The Decision"? I recall him talking in third person quite a bit then. I believe I've heard it several other times as well. I quit watching after the decision. I just wanted to know where he'd go. Everything else disinterested me so if he did it then I missed it. Even so, Rickey Henderson talked in third person all of the time and he was loved as well.

His teammates always like him, he fits in well at the All-Star games, he does some great things off the court. But, he's just not very smart. I don't doubt that most major athletes have a similar ego, they just hide it alot better. Jordan pretty much has the same ego, gets offended when anyone is compared to him, but he's a gets a pass because he's the greatest player of all-time and is maybe the most famous athlete of all-time. Tattoos were not "in" during MJ's time but if they were would "Chosen One" or something as cocky being on his skin really surprise anyone?

When he holds a press conference and refers to himself as The Chosen One then I won't defend him.
