The SI writer took the Columbus Dispatch to task this morning for not reporting on what has been obvious to many in Columbus over the years. He says that's what you get in a one-newspaper town.

To me that is the two key issues here. Straight up lying to the NCAA is a no-no. Doing so that your guys can play is as big of a no-no as there is. I still cannot get over the ruling to allow the ineligible players to partake in this past year's bowl game. I will always wonder if that was a parting gift to Tressell. When this stuff started to surface, there was no doubt he would be out and crap would soon hit the fan.

It is under investigation currently by the NCAA. Not a big deal, but I think they will have even fewer sanctions if any now.

I think a lot of people are jumping the gun a little on the sanctions the NCAA is going to hand out. I think they will be penalized but not nearly to the extent that some of you think. The NCAA bases their decision on facts and not speculation or rumors. I am sure they are investigating the car issues and the info on additional players that is being reported by SI, but from what I have seen and read there have been no facts that have come out of that yet. We can only guess as to what the NCAA will do!

While I understand your reasoning I don't think this will happen. The NCAA has been reticent to use that punishment since SMU in the '80s and I can't see them doing it this time around. Interesting, however, that there was an article on ESPN.com recently about the need for the NCAA to bring back the death penalty because as of now the punishments just aren't that bad for the level of cheating that takes place.

Tressel is out to lessen the blow of what the NCAA is about to hand down. The "facts" coming out so far have been pretty damaging as evident by yesterday's actions.

SI writer said Bama paid for Albert Means, goes to show you....Logan Young paid Albert's coaches and one coach didn't get enough and ratted out the other guys. Bama paid no one, that we know about or proven.

The guy that wrote the SI article has done this before. He has won awards for his journalism before. This isn't opinion, it is fact. I would almost guarantee that.
