Nice win by the team with no help late from the "toothpick".

What is your complaint with Dusty tonight?

What is your complaint with Dusty tonight?

No idea, he didn't make the boneheaded base running mistakes...

If I recall from last year, a lot of people complained they bunted Bruce when he has proven that he can't bunt. Same scenario with Heisey. I don't disagree that Heisey should be able to bunt but he can't. He probably made the right decision not to bunt him.

They win a close game vs a division rival and it's still not good enough.....

I don't like batting Heisey in that situation at all. Why give up an out there? I say take 3 shots at driving the run in there.

Too many ways to score from third base with less than 2 outs to not get him over there, IMO. However, if you think there's any chance at all that he'll pop the bunt up, I'm okay with letting him hit. Two to 60' to the left and it's a great AB that moves the runner or wins the game. If he can handle the bat that well, you let him hit.

Which makes it even more of a mystery that he can't get a bunt down.

Reds hadn't exactly done a great job of getting runners in from 3rd base with less than 2 outs tonight. I would have had no problem either way Dusty wanted to play it there. Either way the Reds won. I think I'm going to make a new rule that you can't criticize Dusty when the Reds win. :D

At no point have I criticized Dusty. I defended him to the guys that were asking why not bunt Heisey. I'm of the same opinion, I was fine with either decision. He knows his players better than anyone.

Put your bifocals on and re-read my post.
