Kobe has a secret void clause in his contract and as soon as this series is over he gives LA the cold shoulder. He opts out, Tim Duncan opts out and they join Steve Nash in Phoenix. They join forces and talk about winning 3 more championships while having a huge parade through the desert. They become the Old 3, an older more boring (because of Duncan) version of Miami. Or Kobe demands that the Gasol for Gasol trade with Memphis be rescinded? Or he goes back to the mall parking lot and tells those people he was right about Andrew Bynum. It's going to be a good summer.

Even if they win this series with a huge comeback, they then have to go through either OKC (nightmare for them IMO) or Memphis a team that can possibly out play them in the post, especially if they're tired from a tough comeback in a series. Then they have to get by Miami (another matchup nightmare) or Chicago (DRose and Noah would be tough for them). If they win this series I think they pray for Memphis and Boston to advance to play them.

I am officially 93% numb to any outcome. They have won the last two championships so as a fan I can't complain a whole lot. Life has been good. I am more despondent about coming to the realization that this is Kobe's last dance. I still think they can win it all but I am considerably less confident about their chances. We knew this day was coming but I was and I am still hoping that time comes next year. I am not ready yet. Dallas is different from all of those teams mentioned because their bench is likely the best in the NBA. Their bench has made a difference this series so far. A former Backstreet Boy made the Lakers look silly last night. None of those teams you mentioned have a bench like Dallas so in that aspect I'll still have a glimmer of hope if LA can pull this series out.

It is going to be a good summer or post lockout frenzy whenever that happens. I do think Bynum has done enough to have proven Kobe wrong on his statement. Bynum played well last night. He just talked too much after the game. I figure if the Howard trade falls through then they'll swap Gasols again. Pau is playing like he got his two rings and now he wants to go back to Spain. Nash and Duncan are way too old. Even Kobe knows that. I really don't think there is a team he can go to and compete right away for his 6th and 7th rings he so desperately wants. Well, there is one place he could go to without disrupting things considerably. The Chicago Bulls........ Wouldn't that be something......

Two seasons ago he got in gear and decided not to be pushed around, but he has reverted back to his old ways. Artest has apparently lost his therapists' phone number. Kobe is early 30s going on late 70s. Fisher should have retired 5 years ago, but they would also have two less titles without him. If memory serves me correct, there has not been a team since the Celtics dynasty of years back (60s) to advance to 4 straight NBA finals. The physical and mental toll it takes on a team is simply too much. Kobe has been to the finals 7 times now. If you average 5.5 games a series, that is nearly 2 seasons worth of basketball. That does not include times the Lakers failed to make the finals while in the playoffs. Bryant is about the only player on the Lakers team not content with their recent run. The Lakers aren't a young team to start with and you factor in the deep runs and international ball that some have played in the last few years and perhaps they're just out of gas at this point. I think any Lakers fan knew this would probably happen at some point, and knew it could happen this season, but like me, was hoping they could hold it off for one more run. And, let's not forget that Dallas started the season 25-4 prior to Dirk's injury. They were the best team in the league and they tied with Miami for the best road record at 28-13. It's not like the Lakers are losing to a pushover. I wouldn't say LA has no chance to come back, but it seems unlikely. Dallas and Miami could be a very good series, if both make it.

They looked bad very bad and they probably aren't going to win it this year. There will need to be some serious changes with that roster next year. Pau literally makes me sick to watch him play. I turned it off in the 4th and went to bed with like 10 minutes left that is how mad I was. Dirk making literally everything he throws up doesn't help much. Like someone said before I don't know how Kobe doesn't shot more honestly. Other than Bynum no one can do anything. As for Kobe winning another ring... Howard is going to end up on the Lakers one way or another at some point.
