April 27, 201115 yr Nice to see him release the Certificate vs. the Certification. What was interesting to me was all of the "reasons" why he couldn't or wouldn't reveal the actual Certificate. I honestly feel that anyone who files to run for the presidency of the United States should be required to make this document a part of their application packet so this type of situation will never happen again. Very surprised that these measures were not already in place. The question begs............why did President Obama not release this document when he filed to run? Seems so simple since it was easily accesible.
April 27, 201115 yr What's stupid is that this was even an issue to begin with. It was an issue because you must be born in the U.S. to hold the office of President and he had never shown his Birth Certificate to prove that point. I feel the issue was valid and I am glad that it's resolved.

More important things to worry about, like the economy. That is where I believe we need a new person to lead us. One that is not afraid to upset the established. Stuff is forged all of the time. Oh look here it is now, the offical certificate. We must believe them since they said it. People have issues with Obama and this was just the thing they clung to. No other President had ever been reluctant to produce their Birth Certificate, therefore making it a non-issue. President Obama had only produced a Certification of Live Birth which is very different than a Certificate of Live Birth. Obama supporters continue to make bad judgments when they automatically assume that anyone who questioned his reluctance to produce the actual long form Birth Certificate was an Obama detractor or hater and also a "crazy" Republican. I am glad this thing is over, but all of the reasons to produce the document were valid in my opinion.

April 27, 201115 yr Why now? The only time I would have released it would be in the event a formidable birther candidate was running against me. Maybe he felt Trump was that guy? :confused: Also his approval numbers are not where they would like them to be, imo. The issue has picked up some steam as of late because of Trump's potential candidacy. I think we can remove Trump's name from the ballot now. Sadly I do not think this fully removes the birther movement; people will still question the legitimacy of his place of birth.
