April 19, 201115 yr We got some serious precip. up this way in the last 12 hours or so. Check out the picture of this house located on Old KY 17 (not too far from Scott and Simon Kenton high schools): The family woke up this morning and their house was completely surrounded by water. Talk about an "oh crap" moment... I'm guessing that is Banklick Creek. I was really surprised it wasn't higher this morning (around 6:30ish), but its ripping now.
April 19, 201115 yr Down the street at the park, all you could see were the roofs of the shelters. I can't believe they're wasting money to redo the ball fields down there. This happens a couple times a year.

April 20, 201115 yr Just read the Mesoscale Discussion for the area around Western Kentucky. A Severe Thunderstorm watch should be issue soon for that area. The last of it is passing through Henderson know. The worst of it was in northern Evansville, heading towards Louisville now and its pretty nasty. Reports of straight line winds of 90mph, lots of rotation reported as well. Currently a possible tornado near Lynnville, In.
April 20, 201115 yr I've had it with winds this Spring. This is the windiest I can ever recall for this period. I have two 8' spiral evergreens flanking the entrance to my front door and one of them is leaning over pretty badly due to all the rain and high winds. If I lose it, I'll have to yank the other one out as well, as there's no way you can just run up to the local nursey and buy one of these things this size. Very aggravating . . . . .

April 20, 201115 yr It looks like it's going to be pretty nasty here soon. Just got home from the gym and couldn't believe when I walked out that the temperature had gone up! It's now 77, today's high was supposed to have been 72. Poor folks near Pioneer Park and Old 17 in NKY, I hope they didn't go home tonight, we'll be sending the rescue team out for them again tomorrow it sounds like. I already had a late night planned, probably going to be up for the whole show tonight.
April 20, 201115 yr Winds are really cranking up here in Independence/NKY. Have my window open and it almost sounds like I'm at the ocean with waves crashing, it's pretty relaxing.
