Probably about the same. Using the 3-4 usually means that can do it for the d-line if you have 6 linemen. And LexCath likes to do since they are usually smaller than the opposing o-line. They were not able to do that until the end of the 2010 season. There are some big linemen coming up in the underclassmen ranks. The need to do two-platoon may reduce with these larger bodies.

Maybe 3 or 4. Mostly linemen. Kurt Wilhelmus will for sure. He did this year as a junior.

 

There are no real obvious two-wayers in the skill and DB areas. But with so many of them being sophomores this past year some may emerge who have aptitude to go both ways regularly.

That will be a problem if they see the Birds as Highlands' big boys will be as fresh as can be from only playing one way; in the trenches, that makes a huge difference in the 4th Qtr.

IMHO, Lexington Catholic is the scariest team in 4A this year. I'm not ready to call them state champions yet but watch out for these guys.

I think the Highlands district is coupled with the Boyle/Lexcath Distirct. This means the looser of the Boyle/Lexcath game will more than likelly see Highlands in the second round. The winner should see them in the third round. Reguardless, Highlands should have to go through both Lexcath and Boyle in some order, prior to the state semi's. I think Highlands is the favorite, but this will be a tougher route than they have seen the last few years.

I thought Boyle/ LC was in the same region as the Knox Central, Clay County district? I'm pretty sure that a Highlands/ Boyle or Lex Cath game will happen in the Semi's.

After looking at the KHSAA website Lexington Catholic and Boyle County are in District 5 for 2011. District 5 will be in the same Region as District 6 (Clay County, Knox Central, Rockcastle, & Russell County).

 

Highlands will be in District 7, who is playing with District 8 for the regional title (Ashland, Boyd, Greenup, Johnson Central, & Rown County).
