Danville 55 Walton Verona 54

Featured Replies

Looking at the stat line it looks like only Dixon and former SK player Slavey were the only two that showed up. Combined for 42 of the 54 points. Where was the rest of the team? It looks like lack of production from the other players was a big contributer to the loss. Also I heard the coach was double parked and had to go move his car at the end of the third quarter, giving up a 18 poiny lead. Were there no adjustments or substitutions in the fourth or what? Once again Walton cannot win games against better than average teams. If they would play the same schedule as SK they would not win as many games, but would get better as an end result. Beating up on weak teams gives you false confidence.

I wouldn't call WV schedule weak by any means. Careful what you wish for, as SK and WV wil probably meet again in the 32nd District finals. I also was not aware that Slavey suited up for Coach Stowers at one time.

I would say that WV has played a pretty good schedule thus far but I don't think that they know how to win tight games. Almost all of their wins have been blowouts, so in crunch time they might not preform as well.

My point exactly. They win a bunch of games against weak teams and not very many at all against good teams. We will play again still before the districts. We have not been playing very well, so it should be a good game. We have Wainscott you guys have Dixon. If its a fast pace game our guards will wear you guys out. If its a slow pace inside game you guys might beat us. We will see soon.

Slavey never did play for SK...she has been at Walton since her freshman yr

This is not the first time threads have mentioned "former" players playing for W-V. How many W-V players are "former" players from someplace else? Just wondered.

To say that Dixon and Slavey are the only players to show up is not kind and obviously not an accurate statement........there was really good defense.. for a while.......i too wonder why our players were not put in place down court defensively during that last free throw.

Could they have been looking ahead to a rematch with NCC?

Slavey should be at Simon Kenton, Taulbee should be at Connor, Sandlin should be at Williamstown and I think Ginn should be a Ryle. Ginn's family went to Walton, so I may be wrong on her.

Why should they be any other place than Walton Verona ?

I guess they shouldn't be. Most attend Walton after starting somewhere else, but most of them never moved. Taulbee may be the exception.

Sound to me like a furious 4th quarter for Danville and just a tough loss for Walton-Verona. If your team has never lost a 4th quarter lead then God Bless you:)

Taulbee still has siblings going to Conner. And I'm not trying to "throw gas on your fire"! Just stating facts.

Parents are going to do what they feel is best for their kids both athletically and academically. Can't fault them for that.

Back to the post. Heck of a comeback by Danville. That's why you play 32 minutes.
