Cueto Agrees to 4 yr $27 Mil deal with Reds...

Looks like Walt isn't a big fan of arbitration.

It's nice to see them locking up their young guys but unless attendance nearly doubles there is no way they can afford all of them 4 years from now when they are making the most. I see a lot of trades in about three years if they have some younger guys come along that prove worthy. The next couple of years should be fun though. And how long will Walt be staying anyway? He may want to retire in a couple of years and the next GM will have some large salaries.

When the Reds win, the fans will come!

I agree and look for ticket sales to be better overall this season compared to the last one.

And more expensive. Each year.

Of course, just about like everything else.

That's pretty much what inflation does.

Even though they bought the 4th year here I really dn't know how the Reds saved money on anyone other than possibly Bruce. For Votto and Cueto to have earned these pay days in arbitration would have been great because they would have had to play great. I don't mind either move. I just don't know that they were necessary.

It's good for a team like the Reds to know how much certain players will be making each year. Arbritration is a pain to deal with.

I think they definitely saved money on Cueto in the long run.

Danks got 6 Mil in his first year of Arbitration and stats are pretty comparable to Cueto.

I thought Danks got somewhere in the $3.5 M range?

Cueto asked for less than $4M in arbitration this year.
