=Being a coach nowadays is a nearly impossible task. I wish parents would get as upset when Joey doesn't bring home an "A". After all hoops wil end pretty quickly for most of these kids.

I agree with you letabrotherspeak. Sounds like little Johnny didn't get his playing time, or won't be considered in the future. Bottom line i talked to a player today and he said they had their best practice of the year. Message heard loud and clear. Yeah Steiner might not make all the right decisions, but I guarantee they will remember sitting on the bench watching the game last night. These kids know he won't tolerate lack of hustle. IMO last night Is just what this team needed. Great call Coach.

Sounds like Johnny didn't get enough playing time, and someone's not happy, so when all else fails, blame the coach, blame the fans for leaving.

It sure is easy being a Keyboard Quarterback, when you are calling shots in front of a screen.

Bottom line is Coach Steiner is one of the better coaches in the NKY area, and one of the most respected. Just earlier this week, people were lauding his and the players effort for their game against Dixie. It sure is easy to blast away from behind the computer.

I can promise you no one is taking this loss harder than the coaching staff at SK.

How about this...give a little credit to Scott and their staff led by Coach Carr? Many people have ripped Coach Carr in the past, but he is a dynamite coach. From the sound of it, they were on their game, and SK wasn't. Happens more often than many think in sports, particularly high school sports.

If Coach Steiner wants to yank his players for not giving maximum effort, lack of emotion, or lack of effort, then so be it.

If you are going to get beat by 20, might as well get beat by 20 with players who will do what's asked.

By no means, am I blaming the players, but there are many ways to motivate kids, and some may not be to mom or dad's liking or the fans, but I believe this isn't Coach Steiner's first rodeo, and his team will bounce back.

Lastly, the whole SK family would probably be better off without you as a fan.

Id have my kid play for Coach Steiner anyday. He's one heck of a coach. Another instance of a parent/fan not having a clue about what goes on day in and day out inside a basketball program.

Funny reading previous threads of yours that coaches should always be given the benefit of the doubt but not the refs. :idunno:

 

Where did I ever say that the referees shouldn't be given the benefit of the doubt?. Refereeing is a thankless job, when you walk on the floor you know that both sides of the arena will hate you at some point in the game. I have a lot of respect for the guys that wear the stripes but that doesn't make them all good referees.

I agree 100%, Coach Steiner and Coach Carr are both great coaches!!

This thread is crazy! Either of those coaches could coach my kids any day!

Have you ever witnessed or heard of a coach take the entire starting 5 out during a game that was still within reach and sit them the rest of the game?

There is a right way and a wrong way to show displeasure with coaching, and this is not the right way, as I said it was the same as last year on here with another school.

The Coach seem to have a good fire in him Tuesday night at Mason,It was'nt his faught shots were not falling..Like there JV Coach as well he really seemed to have his teamed well schooled...

Just came back to this thread to see if anything was posted that I missed. I would like to clear something up I am not related to any player at any level in the basketball program.
