EZ Living I respect your opinions. But really if there was a problem practice intensity why did he start 4 of his normal 5? All 5 would have started if Chambers was able to play. Like I said in another post sit them the rest of the quarter not the rest of the game.

 

I can't tell you how I would have handled the situation as I wasn't there and am not familiar with his team. I am just stating the fact that coaches have different ways to try to get their point across. I once pulled my own son from a baseball game in the 5th inning of the game in which he was throwing a no-hitter because I didn't like the attitude he was displaying in front of his teammmates. This was after repeated attempts to get my point across had failed.

It was just a regular season game. No more important than any other non region, non district game.

The SK fans quit on the team too. Half of them left at the end of the 3rd qtr.

You are correct Eagle2013. It is sad to see fans walk out on these kids during the game. But unfortunately it happens in all sports too often.

Have you ever witnessed or heard of a coach take the entire starting 5 out during a game that was still within reach and sit them the rest of the game?

^ The game was practically over, they were getting beat in every aspect of the game when he pulled them. The Eagles had their way with SK, getting rebound after rebound on the offensive end. That does not take natural talent, just determination. The subs were much less experienced but they at least got after it. I'm sure they'll get a nice wake up come tomorrow morning.

Sounds like Johnny didn't get enough playing time, and someone's not happy, so when all else fails, blame the coach, blame the fans for leaving.

It sure is easy being a Keyboard Quarterback, when you are calling shots in front of a screen.

Bottom line is Coach Steiner is one of the better coaches in the NKY area, and one of the most respected. Just earlier this week, people were lauding his and the players effort for their game against Dixie. It sure is easy to blast away from behind the computer.

I can promise you no one is taking this loss harder than the coaching staff at SK.

How about this...give a little credit to Scott and their staff led by Coach Carr? Many people have ripped Coach Carr in the past, but he is a dynamite coach. From the sound of it, they were on their game, and SK wasn't. Happens more often than many think in sports, particularly high school sports.

If Coach Steiner wants to yank his players for not giving maximum effort, lack of emotion, or lack of effort, then so be it.

If you are going to get beat by 20, might as well get beat by 20 with players who will do what's asked.

By no means, am I blaming the players, but there are many ways to motivate kids, and some may not be to mom or dad's liking or the fans, but I believe this isn't Coach Steiner's first rodeo, and his team will bounce back.

Lastly, the whole SK family would probably be better off without you as a fan.

That's because they had been at the gym for 5 or 6 hours, had bleacherbutt and were hungry. I am pretty sure I saw everything tonight with the exception of a circus elephant. Not sure but I think saw everything tonight from Santa Claus, Karate, 3 basketball games, and a double dutch competition all in a gym that was over capacity by 1,000 people. At some point, you have to decide to beat the traffic. Seriously, SK fans are usually pretty faithful but it was a long night.

I admit, I left early and I don't do that too often. With that being said, four hours in a packed gym without any South Beach diet offerings at the concession helped my decision. I did tune in to 1160 to listen to the last three minutes.

Agreed! They changed the game times (varsity to 8PM, but didn't start until 9PM) the day before, A LOT of people did not know this, the girls game wasn't even at half time about 8:10PM. Parents waiting in their cars for their kids to come out, packed hot gym, people have been there for hours and Scott had the game in hand. Great crowd tonight, a lot better than Monday!
