The Colonels travel to Beechwood for a 35th district battle on Friday night. The last time CCH played at Beechwood two years ago Beechwood pulled out the win. Of course, both teams are very different now. Beechwood will be a huge underdog in this one. The Tigers can match the Colonel's size but can any of Beechwood's bigs keep Thelen in check? Will the Colonels depth be the difference? Could Beechwood pull off the upset of the season and beat the Colonels?

Throughout the years, when people thought one team was much better than the other, that team, that everybody thought was so much better, usually lost this game. It's surprising how the team that is down or is suppose to be down, rises to the occasion to pull out the victory and especially more so, when playing on their home floor!

 

CovCath will need to bring their "A" game just like they did against UHA, Mercer Co and Lexington Henry Clay last week to win this contest and anything less will result in a loss!

 

It's a rivalry game and one of the biggest rivalry games in the Commonwealth and it wouldn't matter if it were an Academic Meet, neither school likes to lose to the other!

 

I wrote that for the HHS game but it goes for the Beechwood game and honestly the Beechwood game is much more important, as it is a 35th District seeding game!

If CCH plays anywhere near their capability this will be ugly. BW is simply not there and has no depth and very little scoring.

Cov Cath is one of the best teams in the region, Beechwood is marginal at best. Now way CC does not come into this game fired up. the crazies will be crazy and the colonels will win big.

Young CovCath Crazies, you need to let the young ladies of NDA know that you, a man, a CovCath Crazy, would never allow a girlfriend or one day a wife, to have something like a dance interfere with your love of CovCath sports, now or later!

This is going to be a blowout. No way, even without the crazies, that CCH doesn't come out and demolish Beechwood. All they have heard is that Beechwood was the team to be in the district and that is enough motivation. The bottom line is that CCH has Thelen and Beechwood doesn't.

Covcath should win this one in convincing fashion. They simply have too much depth for the Tigers to contend with.

C'mon TOG... Let's not get carried away. I think that everything you're saying here except for the district seeding part certainly applied to the Highlands game. But Beechwood? Sure, the Beechwood game is an important seeding game, and truly the Colonels should always bring their 'A' game regardless who their opponent is. Yeah, there's some merit to it being a rivalry for neighborhood bragging rights, but one of the biggest in the Commonwealth might be a stretch. I may be mislead, but my crystal ball isn't seeing much of a big threat here by the Tigers. It's really telling me of an ugly blowout even if the Colonels only bring an A- or B+ game. I honestly haven't seen Beechwood play yet this year, but my gut is telling me that they don't pose anywhere near the threat that the Birds did. With the way the JV Colonels played in their Bird outing, I'd almost be tempted to say that they'd be strong enough to handle this game and let the big boys have a rest. Well... maybe that is also a stretch, but I gotta believe that the Colonels are a bit too mighty for this years version of the Tigers. Hey... but I've been wrong before...
