Towles didnt make the trip leaving the Birds shorthanded once again. Stewart in his first game back in more than a week had a nice game and Junior Sam Lewis also had a great game for the Birds.

Conner has been really consistant lately.

No..Conner has been lousy lately

But consistent. Consistently lousy.

What's going on out in Hebron?

No disrespect to the Birds but they haven't exactly been one of the top teams in the region this year and without Towles, I would've expected this score to be reversed.

A lot for Coach Hicks and his squad to work on if they want to even make it out of the district.

Agree with that statement

7 or 8 seniors on Conner. Time for some of them to learn that part of high school sports is learning leadership. Those that have it need to start using it on AND off of the court.

Plenty of time to right the ship but it's going to take everyone rowing.

I have heard a lot about the tough schedule of Conner, however they are not even competitive in most of these games. I know that Boone and CCH totally dominated them.

I'm suprised! I even picked them to win the region in my sweet 16 contest!

All I heard was their senior leadership and how well they performed this summer. I figured with all the seniors that they had they would be a "well-oiled" machine. I agree, they aren't even competitive. They just can't score! What the heck is going on?

Leadership comes from the top. Maybe everyone was bitten with the #1 bug early on.

Partially.

EVERY good team has players that are leaders. Kids aren't always going to be happy with a coach (and obviously parents aren't either). TEAM leaders need to step in and lead and keep everyone's mind straight. When you have kids that are unhappy and pointing fingers and not getting along with teammates SOMEONE who has the respect of the team has to inject attitude and leadership. From what I hear now would be a GREAT time for someone to do that.

It's easy to lay this on a coach. Players have a role in this as well.

Congrats Birds! Keep it going.

Hicks is a good coach. Players need to look in the mirror and make sure they are playing for the name on the front of the jersey. If you win games things like college opportunities and player rankings take care of themselves.
