I saw that too, but I have a hard time believing Shannon would come to UK, period. But it's even more hard to envision when he would be a "co-coordinator" and not the man alone.

If the Cats throw some cash at him, he might. He doesn't anything else to do right now!

Heck yeah!! This would be a awesome hire, I don't care what he did at Miami, he wouldn't be HC here. I'd love to have him here with all his ties to the south....:thumb::thumb::thumb:

It is rumored that Steve Pardue will coach running backs and maybe take over Chuck Smith's de facto title as director of recruiting.

 

As for the defensive side of the ball, names being thrown around include Randy Shannon, Rick Minter, Wesley McGriff, David Lockwood, and Mike Cassity.

Don't get me wrong, I'd LOVE to have Randy Shannon here as the Defensive Coordinator. I just have a hard time believing though he would come to Kentucky when I'm sure, after this season is over, that he will have a variety of job offers on the table for other positions where I'm sure some are a lot more attractive than us. I'm just being realistic is all.

If I had to guess, the demotion of Brown is way of letting him look for another job without saying he was fired.

 

That's what I was thinking and the two that were let go imo needed to be, especially the D-Backs coach, they were awful.

 

I was also pleased to see that Joker said that although he was happy to go to a bowl that "just a bowl" was not enough and if thats what it was going to be or if others were satisfied with that then he wouldn't be there. Joker stated that he wanted championships. I honestly don't know if Joker is the right man for the job or not but I do like him and think that he just may be. Joker deserves sufficient time / chance to accomplish things. JMO

I made a mistake when I was slamming Brooks and will be one that will admit it. I am not going to be jumping on the "fire Joker" wagon anytime soon as some are already saying that he can't handle the job.

I certainly agree. Shannon would be great but I would tgink that he would want a head coaching job somewhere other than a Coordinator

Supposedly Brown is considering a NFL job. So Joker wants someone who can take over the Defense if that happens.

 

I hope it is not as a defensive coach.
