December 2, 201015 yr Is anyone shocked by this? Senate Republicans threatened Wednesday to block virtually all legislation until expiring tax cuts are extended and a bill is passed to fund the federal government. http://news.yahoo.com/
December 2, 201015 yr So you think the government should raise taxes right now? Raise taxes for struggling middle class families?
December 2, 201015 yr So you think the government should raise taxes right now? Raise taxes for struggling middle class families? Democrats want to raise taxes on the job creators.... Brilliant.
December 2, 201015 yr Democrats want to raise taxes on the job creators.... Brilliant. That's the answer to our unemployment problem isn't it. Oh wait they're not concerned with that right now....
December 2, 201015 yr The current rates have been in place since 03. The companies are sitting on a trillion dollars yet won't hire new folks. The rate is just reverting back to what it was when we had the greatest ever peace time expansion. Dems don't won't to raise it them on the middle class. Probably those making 500,000 or 1 million. Right......
December 2, 201015 yr Sarcasm is so unbecoming. What is wrong with what I said? By the way I did mean Dems, not Rep.

The tax rate had nothing to do with the expansion in the 90's. Plus most of it came crashing down.
December 2, 201015 yr The tax rate had nothing to do with the expansion in the 90's. Plus most of it came crashing down. Didn't say it did, but the tax rate certainly did not prevent the expansion from happening, AND, the new rate has not created another expansion.
December 2, 201015 yr Sarcasm is so unbecoming. What is wrong with what I said? By the way I did mean Dems, not Rep. Other than the fact that it's reverting back to what it was when there was a huge surplus and we weren't trying to come out of a recession while facing a HUGE national debt, with half of the aisle trying to add programs..... I'd say it seems like a good plan.

Weren't you one of the people who claimed that there were no tax cits for the middle class in the Bush cuts? Why even have this debate then? Just let everything expire, after all if the political rhetoric of the left was truthful letting these rates expire would have no effect on the average person, just like enacting them had no effect.
December 2, 201015 yr Democrats want to raise taxes on the job creators.... Brilliant. Job creators ?!! Taxes are low now with the Bush tax cuts right ? .Where are the jobs that have been created ? Oh wait thats right in China and India .
December 2, 201015 yr Didn't say it did, but the tax rate certainly did not prevent the expansion from happening, AND, the new rate has not created another expansion. The cuts did create expansion whether you want to believe/admit it or not. The growth wasn't as impressive as under Clinton but anyone in office at that time would have enjoyed the same results. He was able to ride the tech wave and be seen by many as the man because of it. The fact he really didn't do anything to cause it.
December 2, 201015 yr I need some help. Because I can't remember tax cuts ever creating jobs and/or expansion. It seems to me that every time we cut taxes the result is the deficit goes even higher. I want to hear how the deficit is going to get under control.
