November 27, 201015 yr I'll try to be positive which is pretty tough for a Bengals fan but I thought both yound DE's played well.
November 27, 201015 yr He'll make an average of $16.2 M per season until he becomes a free agent after the 2014 season, which currently ranks him as the 3rd highest paid QB (there are other contracts, such as Peyton Manning's that will be re-worked after this season and cause Palmer's ranking to drop). There is no reason in the world to be paying him this kind of money. If he was so good that he could elevate the overall level of play of the Bengals' offense, that would be one thing. But to pay him top dollar to be an average-to-below-average QB on a below average team is pointless. This is the point I have been tryning to get through to people like SSC and FC. HOF pay for garbge play. Carson Palmer is killing this team. And will continue to do so for years.

And will continue to do so for years. No question. Though I do agree with their (and others') sentiment that he is only part of what is killing this team. There are a LOT of holes on this team. Too many holes that it just doesn't make sense to spend this kind of money on a QB that provides such poor play when the money is needed to fix other areas (OL, DL, S). If we had a great OL, we could possibly get away with using Palmer. Kind of like Trent Diler on the Ravens a few years ago. But as it is right now, he's a waste of needed money.
November 27, 201015 yr How much of Carson's guaranteed money has already been paid to him? The Bengals might not be on the hook for as much as it seems.

Lot's of holes. But the hole you're throwing the most money into might be the one you want to fill. 3td highest paid QB? That's absurd.
November 28, 201015 yr This is the point I have been tryning to get through to people like SSC and FC. HOF pay for garbge play. Carson Palmer is killing this team. And will continue to do so for years. I don't care what he's paid. When he signed the contract it was a good idea. He hasn't perfromed as well as he's paid though obviously.
November 28, 201015 yr What's sad to me is as bad as he's been he's still one of their top 5 players.
November 28, 201015 yr I don't care what he's paid. When he signed the contract it was a good idea. He hasn't perfromed as well as he's paid though obviously. Well if you are a fan youshould care. That contract will limit what they can do at that position. No way they draft a QB in the 1st round, and pay two QBs multi million dollar contracts. They are stuck with him for years.

November 28, 201015 yr Why can't they just cut him? I Guess they can. Anyone know how much he's guaranteed?
November 28, 201015 yr I just don't think they will cut him. I believe they still think he is a top tier QB
November 28, 201015 yr I just don't think they will cut him. I believe they still think he is a top tier QB I think the players do too. If you notice all the players still same he is the same guy, however they are slowly having no problems saying stuff about their Offensive Coordinator. Before the season started I mentioned on here how one of their receivers were at my teams practice to talk, and after practice we talked about Palmer. He talked about how Palmer is fine, the problem with the offense is the OC and how predictable they are. Their OC is a bigger problem than we even realized IMO, if the players also say the same things. Palmer is not as good as he once was, however I think the OC plays a huge role in all the offensive guys struggles.
