November 26, 201015 yr How can you continue to defend CP? Did you not see him throw into triple coverage in the end zone for an interception??????? Doesn't that qualify as an issue? Wake up and smell the coffee... Or atleast just wake up. I continue to defend him because he has a receiver that has never made a summer practice with his team. He has an owner that refuses to hire scouts and has no clue how to draft good players, and he has a coach that didn't know where his challenge flag was. Think about that. He had no idea where his challenge flag was. CP was brutally bad last night there's no doubt about that, but he isn't as bad as people say. Any time your head coach doesn't know where his challenge flag is I'm placing more blame on the coach than the players.

But when your QB is throwing into TRIPLE COVERAGE there is a major issue. Palmer can't move around in the pocket to buy a second of time. All his throws are high or off target. When you have an offensive arsenal like CP and can't do anything there is a problem.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong here, how does the fact that 85 was dancing w/ the stars in the summer affect Carson Palmer's ability to hit him when he is wide open in the end zone? Or TO? Or how does Marvin Lewis' inability to find the challenge flag affect CP's delivery to the point that he continually throws behind receivers. Don't get me started on the 3 yard pass on 3rd and 5 that he has become awesome at throwing. CP is where Drew Bledsoe was w/ the Cowboys. He is done, he just doesn't know it yet. He's a shell of what he once was.
November 26, 201015 yr He is a shell no doubt. How is it his fault that guys run 3 yard routes on 3rd and 5 though? Chad is the most seflish individual in team sports history. He says he wants to be great but he's never practiced a summer with his team. No good QB has to deal with his diva receiver being the idiot that 85 is. My biggest thing with CP is he's as good as other guys. He's obvioulsy not elite any more, but he's servicable. Any time you have a coach as bad as Marvin and an owner as bad as Brown it will make you look bad. He had a terrible game and he's having a bad year though.

They had as many drops as they did bad passes. Their arsenal is vastly overrated. He's playing bad and he probably is bad but I'm still not afraid to give him the benefit of the doubt with what they have to deal with. I probably overrate him but I'm just willing to lay the blame elsewhere because I honeslty feel bad for him and his situation.
November 26, 201015 yr Would any good franchise live with their coach not knowing where his challenge flag was? That should be the one of the biggest stories in the NFL.
November 26, 201015 yr ^ Dude come on. Are you trying to say that we should take a lot of the blame/focus off of Carson because we should focus on how bad our head coach is? Is it that hard to see that we have one of the worst quarterbacks in the NFL on our team? I don't think any quarterback would have tried to make that throw into the end zone last night. No other quarterback is that stupid. That's something we see out of Rusty Smith or St. Pierre in Carolina. Not Carson Palmer; not an 8 year vet. It's time to move on in many positions. Not just head coach, not just offensive coordinator. They need to give Carson the boot as well. I think it's time they sit him.
November 26, 201015 yr As bad as he was he was just as good as Sanchez. He's as good as most guys in the league. They have a million issues and IMO CP isn't one of them. They are probably the only team in the NFL that doesn't start a 1st round pick on either line. Palmer is a huge issue. His throw into triple coverage for a pick in the endzone is exactly what he does. No one ran a bad route, he had time, he threw a pass that should have never been thrown. He does it week in and week out. he's horrible. Everbody said that if they failed this year, it would hang on Carson. This is the case. Unfortunately they are stuck with this hack for years to come. Going to be a long time before you see amother winner in Cincy.

November 26, 201015 yr As bad as Carson has been I am not ready to dismiss him, I am interested to see how he would be with a Head Coach who knew what the heck was going on.
