I wonder if by lifting the blackout rule, the NFL could leverage more TV revenue. The proposal to the networks could site higher viewership in each market if there are no blackouts. I would imagine NFL ratings in the blacked out areas are down in comparison to when there is no blackout. Just a thought.

 

Believe me, if they could garner more revenue by lifting the blackout rule, the NFL would do it in a heart beat.

I will say that although I haven't been watching the Bengals that much this ticks me of. I was going to start watching bc of the Bengals picking up Aaron Pettry (from Raceland,KY) as their kicker. I don't really care if they win or lose just as long as he hits FG's and puts the kickoffs deep.

At least they get Gus Johnson as the PBP guy, which almost assures this game will be a thriller.

That very well could happen. It would all depend on what they do in the off season, IMO. This is highly unlikely of the Bengals, however if they go out and clean out all the coaches and bring a good coach in. Then it could create some excitement, and at least get maybe the first game or two sold out. Then with the new coaches, if they are having some success early, then I think we will see each game end up getting sold out. With a new coaching staff, and some success early, I believe it would cause a lot of excitement in this town again.

 

However that is a lot of If's, so your probably right about only one game being sold out next year.

I will actually be at this game. A friend of mine got handed free tickets, so we decided to go anyways. I still will have a good time today, no matter how they do.

Between them and the Starboys being on national TV each and every week, it's kind of ridiculous. By the same token, I can't help but wonder if part of it is the fascination of watching a train wreck in progress. That's definitely the case with both teams.

Texans/Jets game is the game I'd like to be watching. I can't watch Brett Favre anymore. They aren't even in the playoff race, and I honestly couldn't care less about the GB/Minnesota rivalry.
