Chad Wilson for Monroe was hurt in the second Qtr of the game. His parents said that he was doing very well and expected him to be ready for Friday night! I feel that this game hinges on defense. Monroe will have to play that game that we all know is in them. They still have not played that game that everything clicks, but I am sure not may teams have. They have started finding their rhythm on both sides of the ball, so this week should be very interesting for the Falcons!!

Danville always plays with 12 guys on the field every week - we have our own "Ghosts in Blue" from all of the past years alumni. Good luck to all.

Monroe rarely runs the ball up the middle! They are a very balanced offense with the ability to run as well as pass. Monroe has a legit 4.4 running back and a FB that will rearrange your thoughts. They also have a QB that can throw it accurately off his knees 50+ yards. The Ads defense had better prepare for more than running up the middle, but it will be better for us if they do, they will be shell shocked!!!! Monroe also has a tight end that was ranked in the state last year as a freshman. All that and the playoff experience from the past two years gives them at least a little chance even in the eyes of the Danville faithful.

 

Monroe wins their third straight region title.

 

Another key for Monroe is their Denfense against the run.Pepe/Patrick Brand ran for over 400 yards against Washington County and ran a touchdown from Danville's 4 yard line for a 96 yard run against Green Co.If Monroe can get turnovers in Danville territory they can win this game.If not they could still win but I like Danville's chances.For Danville to win this game they have to play mistake free if not and Monroe takes advantage of the the Ads mistakes Monroe moves on and Danville gets ready for next season.

Gonna be a good game. Both teasm are great and well coached. Danville, 21-13.

No doubt Wilson will need to be healthy to give Monroe the shot they need, but with or without Wilson I don't see the Falcons losing by 3 td's, I hope the Danville players think their 3 td's better than the Falcons...

I agree...I think Sam Harp will have his team believing they are the 3 td underdogs.:thumb:

If Danville doesn't turn the ball over they win by 3 TD. If they play like they did against Green, anything can happen.

This picture was taken after the ballgame. It may just be me but the stars are in alignment for the Falcons. As many of you know Monroe County lost #84 Ethan Strode this year due to complications from a car accident. Friday nights game against Danville will be Coach Petett's 84th game as a head coach, Monroe county is also 8-4...seems pretty clear that Danville will be playing 12 guys on the field friday night!!!

Janie Strode is the one who noticed this after the game when she was browsing through game pics. They attend every game because we all feel that he is still here. The senior boys go to his gravesite every friday after school. His passing brought this community together in a way that no one could imagine!

No idea how this game will go, but I am cheering for the MC Falcons!!
