Danville has a better record against common opponents!

 

 

This picture was taken after the ballgame. It may just be me but the stars are in alignment for the Falcons. As many of you know Monroe County lost #84 Ethan Strode this year due to complications from a car accident. Friday nights game against Danville will be Coach Petett's 84th game as a head coach, Monroe county is also 8-4...seems pretty clear that Danville will be playing 12 guys on the field friday night!!!

I will stick to my district and pull for Monroe in this one but I must say the Ads are mighty good. Great speed and defense. The Ads must take care of the football and stop fumbling. They coughed the ball up 3 times against Green County but the Dragons played the worst game of the season offensively and could not capitalize. I plan to attend this game and hopefully District 3 moves on. Good Luck to Both Teams !!!

This will no doubt be the toughest game of the year so far for the Falcons, you have to think that playing strong running teams like Green, Franklin-Simpson and Allen County-Scottsville have helped prepare the Falcons for the Ads but the Falcons record against those teams has been 0-3. The defense has gotten better in the last few weeks but I'm not sure it's enough, I do know that the Falcons will have to be disciplined on defense because of the misdirection offense from the Ads, it may be a good week to practice defense without the football again, it seemed to help against Ft. Knox as there where far less blown assignments than weeks prior.

On offense, I think the Falcons can give the Ads some problems with their balance, in my opinion the short passes to the flats may help spread Danville out and take Danville’s LB’s out of the picture which may open up the delayed draw’s as well as give Jackson a chance to pick up some good yards as well, I also really liked the split backfield look against Ft. Knox, the lack of safety help over the top really opens some things up for Trent Tooley. Hopefully all the Monroe backs will be healthy and able to grind some tough yards out against an athletic defense from the Ads, I think it will take 28 points from the Falcon offense to have a chance to win or a big advantage in time of possession.

This stacks as a real good game to watch. Monroe will have to play defense against Danville the way they played against Allen Co. Feel game will be won or lost by the Falcon defense. Think Monroe can put up points against any team in 2A. Know Danville has a real good team so this will be a tough ballgame to win.

Which means nothing.The playoffs are a whole new season.Fort Knox proved that against Glasgow.:thumb:The one game that I will make my prediction by is the Danville/Washington County game.Danville won that game 55-35.The Ads were cruising in that game until Washington Co. cut the lead to six with 8 minutes left in the game.Monroe escapes Washington Co with a one point win.

For the Ads to win they must hold on to the ball and cut down on penalities.

For Monroe to win they will have to figure out how to move the ball other than running it up the middle.

I will take the Ads by 14

Monroe rarely runs the ball up the middle! They are a very balanced offense with the ability to run as well as pass. Monroe has a legit 4.4 running back and a FB that will rearrange your thoughts. They also have a QB that can throw it accurately off his knees 50+ yards. The Ads defense had better prepare for more than running up the middle, but it will be better for us if they do, they will be shell shocked!!!! Monroe also has a tight end that was ranked in the state last year as a freshman. All that and the playoff experience from the past two years gives them at least a little chance even in the eyes of the Danville faithful.

 

Monroe wins their third straight region title.

I'm hoping that the Falcons pull this one off.

What about the Wilson kid for Monroe Heard his parents talking that they didn't know if he would be ready this week against Danville? I also know Danville is a very good team and it seems like if you can beat up on Monroe early and get the momentum they seem to lay down in my opinion but I don't expect that to happen in this game. Danville wins by 2 or 3 tds there rushing game is to good for the falcons.
