I am just curious....if Monroe by some miracle beats the mighty Admirals will all the Ad fans give a little credit and root for our side of the region? :clap:Or will they cease to exsist like all but one of Green's fans! :thumb:

 

We always cheer for our region. I used to be a big Metcalfe County/Will Warf supporter, and of late have enjoyed the company of Go Roe. We just get a little tired of Green.

This will no doubt be the toughest game of the year so far for the Falcons, you have to think that playing strong running teams like Green, Franklin-Simpson and Allen County-Scottsville have helped prepare the Falcons for the Ads but the Falcons record against those teams has been 0-3. The defense has gotten better in the last few weeks but I'm not sure it's enough, I do know that the Falcons will have to be disciplined on defense because of the misdirection offense from the Ads, it may be a good week to practice defense without the football again, it seemed to help against Ft. Knox as there where far less blown assignments than weeks prior.

On offense, I think the Falcons can give the Ads some problems with their balance, in my opinion the short passes to the flats may help spread Danville out and take Danville’s LB’s out of the picture which may open up the delayed draw’s as well as give Jackson a chance to pick up some good yards as well, I also really liked the split backfield look against Ft. Knox, the lack of safety help over the top really opens some things up for Trent Tooley. Hopefully all the Monroe backs will be healthy and able to grind some tough yards out against an athletic defense from the Ads, I think it will take 28 points from the Falcon offense to have a chance to win or a big advantage in time of possession.

I agree. If I read the last stats right on KHSAA, Monroe is giving up nearly 200 yds rushing per game. :scared: Wow! Danville might shred that defense even worse.

 

BTW, Monroe is averaging giving up about 21 per game.

 

By contrast Danville is surrendering only 14 per game and consider who they've played: Boyle, Somerset, Washington, and Southwestern which have put some points on the board.

Hatz I know Monroe's defense has been suspect at times this year but Danville gave up 35 points to Washington Co. the same amount Monroe Co. gave up. You cannot compare scores because sometimes one team will match up better than they would with another team. Danville may win this game or they may not I just hope their team is as overconfident as their fans are.

The Danville visitors side is one of the better ones you'll find but like ever school, it's still the visitors side. My guess is that you will pack it out early. :thumb:

My observation is simply that after 12 games stats do reveal some strengths and weaknesses. A team that averages only 21 points a game is likely not going to go off for 49 against a good team. Likewise a defense that gives up 20 a game and a lot of rushing yards is likely not going to shut out a great running team. :thumb:
