Voted for two Dems, but both were on the local level.

I voted for R's and D's today. I also did a write in for Marilyn Manson for a local contest.

Hey I voted for Jimmy Carter:cry:, Walter Mondale:eek: and Bill Clinton, twice :scared: . Then I grew up.

I didn't vote for any Dems today. I took the Hugh Hewitt stance that a vote for ANY Dem was a tacit endorsement of the Obama, Reid, Pelossi agenda.

See, I just don't understand that. It just doesn't make sense to me that we continue to lump all Dems and all Republicans together as if they all have the same exact viewpoints. In 2008, I voted for Obama but I also voted for Mitch McConnell, not because I particularly liked him, but I thought he would do a better job for Kentucky than Bruce Lunsford. It's just frustrating that we've descending into voting for parties rather than candidates.

Voting a straight party ticket show laziness and a lack of due diligence . Too lazy to look into the merits and drawbacks of an individual candidate . If there is a D or an R behind their name thats enough for people that vote a straight party ticket

I did not vote in numerous races on the local level, choose not to vote on a couple at the national level, and even voted for 2 or 3 Democrats on the local level. I loathe when people simply vote based on the "R" or "D" behind the name and when people know nothing about the candidates.

Brereton Jones? No wait ... I think that was Wallace Wilkinson.

It was Wally World. Wallace Wilkinson. 1987 if memory serves.

Normally I would agree with you but the Dems were so in lockstep with Obama, Reid and Pelosi that I didn't see any difference between any of them. I wanted to send a message in the only way that I could and that was on the ballot. I took the time to vote for each individual candidate rather then just filling in the straight ticket bubble. Next election I'll decide that what to do.

I just cast my first-ever GOP vote.
You are a conservative, you just don't know it yet.

I voted for a few D's on the local level when there were more then just one person running. Most of the local races in Henderson were unopposed so I didn't vote at all in any of them. Didn't see any point in getting hand cramps from coloring in the box for someone that was going to win by default anyway.

This is the second time I've been forced to vote for John Yarmuth. I'm not happy about it, but Todd Lally was nothing short of completely unimpressive during his campaign. Between him and Conway, there are two votes for Democrats I shouldn't have been forced to cast if someone I trusted had won the Republican primary.

I didn't like Lally or Yarmuth...so I voted for Ed Martin. Though honestly, he wasn't my favorite candidate either. Very unimpressive set of candidates all around for me.

I hope both you and Getslow will indulge me..I assume it's because he is unabashedly liberal. Yarmuth, I mean. Are there other reasons as well?

There are no personal reasons behind it. It's just as simple as he's a Democrat and I'm not. But I've never been a very good Republican either. It simply came down to whether I'd vote for a Republican I didn't really care for and didn't necessarily trust to do what's in the best interests of Kentucky and the United States in general, or for a Democrat that I agree with on some things but don't agree with on most things. The devil you know always beats the devil you don't...

He voted yes on practically every spending bill he saw. Some key ones were the stimulus bill, wasting more money towards the war on drugs---specifically in Mexico, the bail out of the automotive industry, etc.
