At the time I had no clue whether it was good or not.

A ref and sideline reporter (Tristateinternetsportsradio) both right there say it was a good conversion. One of these is trained and both have probably seen more football than most of us. I have to believe it was a good call.

 

Here is another picture. looks like it is right before the weber photo from above. looking at Vocke body placement (foot clearly in endzone) I'd believe his body to be about the goal line, making it possible the ball crossed the plane of the goal line.

 

One thing to note is that was a great hit and tackle by #10 of Newcath. If he doesn't hit like that there isn't even a dispute to talk about!

I have some software at work that has the ability to measure distance and depth on pictures.

According to that software .. the ball is over the plane in this picture by 1.03273 inches.

I say ... great call by the ref. (And thats what we need to say .. because that guy has probably second guessed himself all week).

 

Last point ... why is everyone laying on the ground? Geesh (and I mean that from both schools--not a smack at NCC)

Cain dove to deflect the pass. And again, he is over the line but his right hand is off the ball. Last thing I'll say on this. Was he juggling it before the hit, or did this hit jar it lose? Again, we can't tell b/c we don't have video right on the line. We have to go w/ the ref's call. Game over, one side feels vindicated, my side does not.

I honestly can't believe this one is still being discussed.

 

Hell of a game by both teams...let's move on folks.

is it just me or does it seem that every year this game comes down to a nailbiter? I remember the 07 game where a beechwood receiver made a phenomenal catch in the endzone to win the game only to be flagged for an illegal formation. these are two exceptional, workhorse teams, powerhouses in their respective classes. I can't wait for next year!
