I was not at last night's game - just basing my opinion on both team's games against Highlands.

 

I know the boy breaking his leg took some wind out of Campbell Cty when they played Highlands, but they were absolutely manhandled that game - showed no ability to move the ball at all, or stop Highlands starting offense. Physically, they didn't match up well on either side of the line.

 

Cov Cath, on the other hand, played Highlands very tough. The game was very close at the half, and could have ended differently had CC not lost their momentum due to a couple quick scores by Highlands in the 3rd. CC also matched up better with Highlands at the line of scrimmage, although Highlands d-linemen did start to get the best of CC as the game wore on.

You could say the same about Dressman's interception on the 1 or 2 yd line. He doesn't throw that into double coverage and CCH wins by 2 scores.

I was just trying to make a point that HHS scoring happened and it was the game. We would all like to have plays back and say if this wouldn't have happened or if this happened it would have changed the outcome of the game.

 

I hope these two teams can meet again in the future. Truly one of the best games I've seen all year by two very talented teams.

I'm a Highlands guy, not Cov Cath, and I'm telling you, Cov Cath gave us a much, much better game than Campbell County. It's not even close. I don't think you'll find one person who was at both games that would disagree with me. I don't really care either way, I'm just giving you the facts of what happened.

I don't disagree that Campbell blew the big one in their first game of the season. They are a different team than the one that played HHS in August. I was at the HHS vs. St. X frosh game and the HHS vs. Campbell frosh game and I think HHS could beat most JV teams in NKY; however, Campbell lost 3 starters in that game AND our coaching staff were lost balls in the high weeds for the first 5 or 6 weeks. As I said before, Go Birds! Beat Colonels! Harris, Schweitzer, Hergott and Wrobleski are all brethren Red Devils and Cov Cath sports some Spartans - so Again, GO BIRDS!

Someone predicted a 77 point victory for the varsity HHS vs CCH game--did not happen--that is why we play! Also win or lose the game last night was exciting to watch. Great game when 2 talented teams battle it out on the gridiron. Hope the injured young man is OK.

I think it's safe to say if CCH turns the ball over 5 times, HHS will win the frosh championship. Let me take it a step farther....CCH needs zero turnovers.

Can't disagree with the sentiment. But these are nice kids. And I know at least four of the starters were Ludlow Panthers. They deserve some success.

Superman, Spiderman, Incredible Hulk, The Flash and Batman are all slated to play - as they have the whole season.
