The logic being used here is ridiculous. Because a man who claims to be Christian kills an abortionist, then we indict Christianity because of it? And because 19 men kill 3,000 people in the name of Islam, then we indict the Muslim religion?

 

It's this kind of paint-everyone-with-the-same-brush mentality that stifles civility.

Of course there are ignorant people who would take a situation like this & say Christianity is somehow at fault. They've done the same with 9/11 & Islam. What I'm trying to tell you, if you'll pay attention, is that this kind of paint-everyone-with-the-same-brush mentality stifles civility.

Over the last 40 years there have been 2 or 3 abortion doctors killed. While, this was on Fox News the other day, 40,000 plus have been killed by Islamic terrorists. How many in the name of Christianity have hijacked planes vs Islamic terrorists? I see Clyde's effort here, but the numbers just do not match. I do understand that the majority od Muslims would just like to be left alone and live their lives. That may be difficult for them because of the repressive governments they live under.

I knew someone would resort to the numbers angle. It doesn't fly with me because the point being made is simple. We can't smear an entire religion for the actions (regardless of how severe or ghastly) of a few. Yet we see it all the time with smearing of the entire Muslim faith. It's unacceptable and illogical.

A too-large percentage of Americans fall into the trap of lumping all Muslims into one pot (ie terrorists). So the "we" in response to the post seemed acceptable.
