North Oldham Vs East Jessamine County predictions ?

Featured Replies

East Jessamine has a big offensive line and give it to Thomas (# 1) all night. Thomas is very athletic and fast - looks for the corner or a cut back lane to score on every touch. If North can force East Jessamine into 3rd and long, they do not throw the ball very well. On defense East Jessamine crowded the line of scrimmage against Hills. They are big upfront and LBs ran to the ball well. Thomas plays safety and keeps most big plays from happening. East Jessamine is playing well now (losing close games to Lex Catholic and Boyle Co), but this could be a good trap game for North as East Jessamine looks toward the play-offs.

They can expect East to try to ram the ball down their throat.

Expect Power Football. Better get your pads down.

Game will be aired on the Pegasus Sports Network, beginning at 7 pm. (also archived for later listening). Go to http://www.pegasussportsky.com, and click on the North Oldham logo. From there, click on the listing under "Upcoming / Live Broadcasts" (or "Archived Broadcasts", if listening at a later date).

The game will load in a few moments.

North is playing their best ball right now, which is what any coach wants, but apparently, so is East Jess. The Jaguars won last year's game by 14, I believe, in a shootout. This will be a real test for the young Mustang linemen as the 3A Mustangs tangle with one of the better 4A teams.

North better keep an eye on their goal posts. Apparently, East likes to take a sledge hammer and bang on the goal post as they come onto the field. They did this at Boyle on Friday night and had their hammer confiscated - brand new goal post. Probably will bring another. What kind of tradition is that?

Thanks for the good feedback.

I suppose this is not a bad time to take on such a formidable and physical 4a team. If North can handle what East Jess. throws at them it would sure carry a lot of momentum going into the playoffs. If things did not go so well maybe it would toughen us up and have us better prepared for the 3a opposition to come. Gotta think positive !

"Apparently, East likes to take a sledge hammer and bang on the goal post as they come onto the field."

Are you kidding me ? Why not just fire up an acetylene torch or launch M-80's into the grandstands while their at it.

We'll have to get our hammer police assembled.

The team does this??? And the coaches permit it?? Surely this was a spur-of-the-moment thing, not a "tradition..." :ohbrother:

North is in for an all night smash mouth game. It could help them but more than likely it will not. E.J. takes no prisoners. They are a big, solid football team. Running back is all that. If they can slow him down they have a shot.

From what I heard from EJ backers on another site it is some sort of tradition. Those backers felt it was an over reaction for Boyle officials to confisicate the hammer after the fact.

Some things never cease to amaze me.

East Jessamine and Washington County both brought sledge hammers and hit the goals posts before they ran on the field at Western Hills. Washington County also removed the WH Goal Post Pads and threw them to the 20 yard line. Having a symbol or hammer for a unit is a good tradition, using it to beat any part of a opposing schools field is not. I heard that Shelby County used a sledge hammer on Trinty's "T" before their play-off game last year.

It's my understanding that the sledge hammer East used last week is no longer in service. :idunno:

HAHAHAHA, thats funny don't care who you are. A no no as a coach, but for me the fan makes for some good drama.

North looks at it as practice for Louisville Central. No it's not a win like Gallatin but every game has purpose
